One of those events you can only understand through living the experience. From utter dread of anarchy away from home to restored hope. Repatriation of our own back to the motherland. Thank you @GovUganda
WE MUST START DRINKING WHAT WE GROW.
Every day, Americans drink over 400 million cups of coffee, spending an estimated US$300 million.
Meanwhile, Uganda one of the world's leading coffee producers exports over 8.8 million bags of coffee annually but consumes less than 1kg per person each year.
I keep asking myself, Why do we celebrate exporting green beans while others earn the biggest profits from roasting, branding, and selling the final cup?
The real wealth is no longer in the bean!it's in the BRAND. If we increase domestic coffee consumption and export more roasted, packaged Ugandan coffee, we'll create more jobs, grow local industries, increase tax revenue, and keep more value here at home.
Uganda doesn't just need to grow more coffee. We need to drink it, roast it, and sell it to the world under Ugandan brands like @InspireAfrica_
I Haven’t seen a fine competitive game of football like #CANMAR.
If Morocco goes past this huddle We are destined to have an African @FIFAWorldCup Champion.
@BalaamBarugahar has a Hot potatoe to juggle with(Stock mpya)
@KagutaMuseveni has hit internal affairs a pick-five (Dr. MUGANGA). No more cries for Bavandimwe.
Here is one way Iran could bring the threats and attacks to a complete halt.
@mb_ghalibaf Or @araghchi Can plainly bring to Trump’s attention.
‘Iran will kick start the process of a nuclear weapon If You threaten Or attack Iran again”
How else do you check Narcissism?
Trump to Axios: 'solid 50/50' as to whether he’ll 'blow [Iran] to kingdom come'
'I think one of 2 things will happen: either I hit them harder than they’ve ever been hit, or we’ll sign deal that is good'
VIDEO: 47 on Thursday threatens Iran with 'something very drastic'
I vividly recall @AndrewMwenda demonizing @KagutaMuseveni for the Kiira dam decision. That L. Victoria wld dry up,well levels went up.
@mkainerugaba CiC says @AndrewMwenda is co-habiting with neo-colonialism.
Rather make a mistake trying to industrialize than fold our hands.
Missing aspects/Not addressed.
Give us assurance all persons of contact have been quarantined under observation for further medical assessment
@MinofHealthUG has responded in time to avoid further spread.
Know your enemies are working full throttle when they applaud you for demonizing your placement authorities.
Few media houses capture the refinements @BOU_Official recommends.
A 2-year approval certificate is Ignored too.
A smelly rat being uncovered here #SovereigntyBil.
VIDEO: Dr Michael Atingi-Ego, Governor BoU: The Bill in its current form risks regulatory fragmentation and exposes the economy to shocks, potentially undermining the economic strength on which true national sovereignty is built.
Is it that complex!
Let me simplify,
BoT+other inflows=BoP.
Govts focus on BoT in the long term(FDIs & Exports).Foreign interests may negate these efforts, hence #SovereigntyBill
Why didn’t @BOU_Official request to be the implementing authority to check political bias?
Key is hedge against bigger incidental risks with other exposures in mind
Is @BOU_Official under such pressure they wouldn’t mind the source & intention of forex inflows. Declarations are Not denials.
Inflows to destabilize a country pose a bigger risk to the balance of trade.
.@cobbo3 do you remember the phrase from the Clinton 92 campaign for the US Presidency that sunk George H. W? Why the architects & champions of this did not seek counsel of those who know is mind boggling. This embarrassment that the #SovereigntyBill has become could have been avoided well in advance🤷🏿♂️
@amronaldo Uganda's main obstacle to infrastructural dev't is acquiring RoW & funding, the petty turf fights are easily resolved(Posts changed since 2016).Tz & Kenya dont face RoW impediments.
But ështëcan't we have the BRT alongside the roads(in the road reserves) @MoWT_Uganda
Fellow Ugandans, esteemed veterans of the liberation struggle, gallant officers and men and women of the Uganda People's Defence Forces, distinguished guests, and all patriots ,
Good afternoon, and warm greetings on this momentous day.
Tomorrow, January 26th, we solemnly commemorate the 40th anniversary of the NRM/NRA Liberation Day — the historic day in 1986 when the brave fighters of the National Resistance Army, under the visionary leadership of His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, triumphantly entered Kampala, overthrew the oppressive regime, and restored hope to our beloved nation.
This was not merely a military victory; it was the liberation of the Ugandan people's dignity, sovereignty, and future from decades of dictatorship, chaos, and bloodshed. The gallant men and women of the NRA — many of whom paid the ultimate price — fought with unmatched courage, discipline, and commitment to the revolutionary principles of patriotism, unity, and fundamental change. Their sacrifices laid the foundation for the peace, security, and development we enjoy today.
As the Chief of Defence Forces, I stand before you with profound pride and humility. The Uganda People's Defence Forces is the direct heir and proud continuation of that heroic NRA tradition. We remain steadfast guardians of the gains of the liberation struggle: defending our borders, protecting our people, supporting regional stability, and contributing to nation-building in every corner of Uganda.
To our veterans and families of fallen heroes — your unwavering resolve and blood spilled in the bush war will never be forgotten. You are the true architects of modern Uganda. The UPDF honors you, supports you, and draws eternal inspiration from your example.
To the young officers, soldiers, and recruits of today — you are the custodians of this legacy. The threats may have evolved — from internal subversion to external aggression, terrorism, and emerging challenges — but our mission remains the same: to safeguard the peace won at such great cost and to ensure that Uganda remains a united, prosperous, and sovereign nation.
On this Liberation Day, let us renew our pledge to the ideals of the NRM revolution: hard work, patriotism, Pan-Africanism, socio-economic transformation, and zero tolerance for corruption and division.
Long live the memory of our liberation heroes!
Long live the Uganda People's Defence Forces!
Long live His Excellency the President and Commander-in-Chief!
Long live the Republic of Uganda!
Thank you, and may God bless you all

Effective January 21, 2026, Uganda joined the visa bond pilot program. Visa applicants who are otherwise found eligible for a business/tourist (B1/B2) visa for travel to the United States will be required to post a bond before the visa can be issued. The bond will be returned to the traveler if he or she complies with all conditions of the visa and departs the United States before the period of admission expires. Information regarding how the visa bond program works can be found on: https://t.co/VOEqW3BGWN
📍Today’s Office: Enroute from Jinja to Kampala, thought I could be part of the history in the making at Sezibwa; got under and took shots of this wonderful project coming up; the arch-style designed bridge is beginning to shape up! 🤙🏾
Later this year, the old bridge at Sezibwa along Kayunga road will be decommissioned and perhaps kept somewhere in the museum!!!😊
It’s a local contractor, Dynaco Ltd under the supervision of @MoWT_Uganda undertaking works. Fully funded by @GovUganda !
Help me appreciate your point of view,An industry B is purposeful only If my family gains employment there!
I have 2 tenants riding bodas and one pays promptly better than some in other types of employment. What do you mean that boda boda is Not employment?
@amronaldo Something wrong in the Mind here, pardon me If I am derogatory.
The @MoWT_Uganda safety officer for failure of a definitive Road Safety strategy thinks the whole boda industry be banned!!
And castigates the all embracing Old man for appreciating the employement in the Industry
