WE DEMAND JUSTICE FOR KIZITO. 🕯️💔
Kizito was not a criminal. He was a father of five. A husband. A human being with a family depending on him.
According to his family, Kizito was rushing to find his pregnant wife, who was in pain. It was around 6:50 a.m., just minutes before the 7:00 a.m. cleaning exercise. He reportedly tried to explain his situation to the officers, but instead of being heard, he was shot from behind and killed by our hardworking officers for failing to clean 😥.
A life was taken. A family was shattered. Five children have been left without their father. A pregnant woman was left without her husband.
Dear @PoliceUg, who will raise Kizito’s five children? Who will explain to them why their father never came home? Who will answer for the life that was taken?
#Uganda: UN Human Rights Chief @volker_turk denounces the ongoing crackdown on dissent, erosion of the rule of law, increased military involvement in civilian institutions, and shrinking civic space.
He urges the Government to uphold the separation of powers and the rule of law, including by preventing military interference in civil institutions.

I bumped into my old friend @ChrisObore1 while visiting Salongo @EriasLukwago at Murchison Bay Prison. Obore is visibly disturbed by his new public image. In utter disbelief, he said he can’t believe that we now think he is a national thief, he repeated the phrase "national thief" three times!
@SaltTvUganda@mkainerugaba@NUP_Ug Such a once respected old person to turn out a nuisence over what, a tv Station presenter kale Bantu mwe muswaaza. Lessons grow, work and Save for your future not to turn out as a boot licker
Dear @SueNsibirwa, please know that you are loved, valued, and deeply appreciated by countless Ugandans.
You stood at the helm of a media house that chose truth over fear, courage over silence, and remained steadfast in telling the stories of the people exactly as they were, without bending to intimidation or surrendering to the demands of tyranny.
No matter what happens, history has already chosen your side. You are a hero of this generation, and when the pages of Uganda’s story are written, your name and face will stand among those who refused to kneel before oppression.
@AgoraCFR@SamMugumya Kika, the regime apologists must know we ain’t taking Uganda any where cause we found it around thus will leave it. As we all fade away
“The per diem for the Speaker used to be $900 per night. Among increased it to $5,000, and $4,500 for the deputy. Whatever she got, she made sure her deputy Tayebwa also got ” @AAgather
This and more are in the full video premiering today at 4:00 pm on https://t.co/B2T4Crnz71.
@AAgather I stand corrected. Thanks to new data. Even those who believed that the sun moved around the earth eventually changed their position when faced with new information. But let’s face this matter with seriousness and honesty: assuming both I and the outgoing Speaker were charged with corruption and knowing the high standard for a criminal conviction, namely beyond reasonable doubt, whose file would have enough evidence to secure a conviction?
The real threat to Uganda’s economy and sovereignty is not those who criticize the government's policy.
It is the folks who stream to Staye House to crack deals and turn up at government agencies with the blue letter subverting the normal process of developing and execution of government programs.
They tend to be linked to the ruling class and the First Family, and they sell access to the imperial president. Yet the Soverigntt Bill makes no mention of such practice.
See an example below
A woman was shot by a police officer while driving on a public road near Speaker Anita Among’s home.
The police officer didn’t even attempt to save her life as she struggled to get herself to hospital on her own while losing a lot of blood.
Speaker’s people say she was in Bukedea so the woman didn’t even pose any security threat to the speaker (not that if she was home Ugandans should be denied to use the road).
Speaker’s people also say she’s in touch with the family but the police is apparently still “hunting” for the woman.
Why do we have leaders who think they are gods? And it is not just the Speaker. Julius who was killed on Christmas Eve of 2024 was shot because of some other “big person”.
If you guys want to drive on public roads alone perhaps you could allocate money to construct roads only for yourselves because as it is now, the roads are few and narrow and congested but you still come like you’re rushing to do anything ground breaking and violently force people into trenches and now even shoot them!!
My Labor Day message is going to be of appreciation to outstanding MPs like @GorrethNamugga who have worked relentlessly when Ugandans trusted them.
Many MPs gave up on parliamentary proceedings in January when they lost the election, she never did. She’s still on the forefront up-to today.
Happy Labor Day to you.
