I am a nurse, and an Eritrean American. That should make me special, especially now .

[Moses Tesfay @MosesTesfay]

@BehiwotTilahun And so, what is the problem. We never complain about it. We are happy with what we have, it your country who is crying Akaki Zeraf daily about Eritrean people.

[Moses Tesfay @MosesTesfay]

@peculiarchichii Before marrying him didn't you know his pines was small. Why wait until getting married to degrade him.

[Moses Tesfay @MosesTesfay]

@regasa_tulu So, what is your point. Instead of keep saying akai zeraf on daily basis, why not try annexing Assab. You know what is waiting for you on the other side of the border. Shintam Hulu.

EthiopiaWatch🇪🇹: Ethiopia’s inflation continues to PUNISH Ethiopians.

Today, I measure Ethiopia's inflation at a PUNISHING 75.6%/yr. That's the 5TH HIGHEST in the world.

PM. Abiy Ahmed Ali = ARROGANT, INCOMPETENT & CORRUPT.

[Moses Tesfay @MosesTesfay]

@DanielsonKassa1 Wishful thinking. Your country will be landlocked for eternity.

[Moses Tesfay @MosesTesfay]

@OneEthiopia21 Hahaha, wishful thinking. It is your president who is in Kenya and asked Ruto to mediation.

[Moses Tesfay @MosesTesfay]

@mkheirom Fake news.

[Moses Tesfay @MosesTesfay]

@Tikur80s Delusional, Assab is not just Easeyas, it is belongs to all of Eritrean. Easeyas doesn't have the authority to give any land. So, Dreaming is free.

Reading from a teleprompter on Ethiopia's TV yesterday, the Potemkin Party's Prime Minister disparages Eritrea's economic development, and particularly its manufacturing sector, as "stagnant and in decline" since its independence in 1991.

The speech/interview was also laced with his three-year old threats of war of aggression and invasion unless Eritrea succumbs to his delusional projects of "sovereign access to the sea" and "Ethiopian naval presence" in Eritrea's coastal territory; packaged this time round in different pretexts, language, and format.

To revert to his disparaging discourse on Eritrea's economic performance and potential:
1. In the past 35 years, Ethiopia was the beneficiary of a whopping 80-90 billion US dollars of international multilateral and bilateral assistance;
2. Ethiopia went through two rounds of WB sponsored debt-cancellation rounds, as well as repetitive financial bailouts from the IMF and other donors. For almost ten years in -between, Ethiopia's dire humanitarian conditions were alleviated by the international community under a customized "social safety net" and other similar "intensive care" financial antidotes.
3. The current regime itself has received over 30 billion US dollars in international assistance in the last 8 years alone. In addition, its tattering economy is being resuscitated by another IMF bailout programme to the tune of 3.1 billion US dollars.
4. And yet, as the figures below illustrate, more than 68% Ethiopians are living under extreme poverty while close to 30 million people require urgent humanitarian relief assistance at this point in time.
5. In as far as the 300 manufacturing plants that the PP leader alludes to, these were old factories built during Italy's colonization of Eritrea from 1889 until 1941. The British Military Administration dismantled many of those factories - including the dock in Massawa - as "war booty" and sold them to other foreign countries. The occupationist Haile Selassie regime, in its turn, dismantled many of the remaining factories and transferred them to Ethiopia especially during the imposed "Federation" period.
6. After its hard-won independence in 1991, Eritrea registered rapid economic growth in the first seven years (WB reports). Imposed wars and unwarranted sanctions thereafter naturally affected the pace and magnitude of its economic trajectory.
7. These externalities have nothing to do with Eritrea's open investment and economic policies and visions.
8. And in any case, Eritrea has the abundant economic endowments (blue economy, extractive industry, educated and industrious human capital, and a civilized culture that celebrates religious and ethnic diversity within robust national unity) to excel and achieve its aspirations of rapid and sustainable growth in a conducive and enduring regional climate of peace and stability.
9. Finally, Ethiopia itself could do much better, extricate itself from debilitating dependency, and use its abundant resources for real development if its leaders abandon sectarian policies of division and polarization that incubate perennial cycles of internal turmoil as well as intertwined acts of regional destabilization in pursuit of delusional and expansionist projects.

@DanielsonKassa1 Fake news.

[🇪🇷🐪 @Yonijoni3]

The ball Is in Ethiopia’s court. Pay to use Assab, & I suggest we charge Ethiopia 4x higher what you pay Djibouti as compensation for 39 years of illegal occupation , or the discussion is over. If you choose war, so be it. The days of using the port at no cost is over 91-97 👊

[Moses Tesfay @MosesTesfay]

@BehiwotTilahun Ethiopia is present in Djibouti, so what happened there. Djibouti is still poor. What makes Assab different.

The Hotel Shift That Delivered Justice: From Atlanta’s Bellman to Alabama’s Swindler

#Habtamu_Challa_Gurmu, the Kelbessa Negewo of Alabama.

One was responsible for gruesome physical atrocities, the other stole from starving children; one faced justice, the other is waiting for his.

During Ethiopia’s Red Terror, Edgegayehu “Edge” Taye, Hirute Abebe-Jira, and Elizabeth Demissie survived Mengistu’s Derg prisons, where the young Taye was stripped, suspended, and beaten under the oversight of official Kelbessa Negewo; years later, working a hotel shift in Atlanta, she recognized him as a bellman, summoned the other women, and together they sued under the Alien Tort Claims Act, winning a federal judgment that held him liable for torture and proved that American courts can reach men who thought distance and a new job would erase their past.

That same principle now closes around #Habtamu_Challa_Gurmu , known as @Habtishgreat, who stands accused in circulating audio of admitting he looted roughly fifteen million from Wegagen Bank before fleeing, and who now lives and operates through True Care Inc. in Madison, Alabama; just as the hotel corridors of Atlanta delivered Negewo into the hands of his victims and the law, the open records, the recorded words, and the long memory of those he left behind ensure that no amount of distance or quiet residency will spare him the day American justice asks him to answer for what was taken.

@martinplaut We have been trying to live peacefully, but the negbore in the south wouldn't let us. So, as a nation in constant threat of invasion, it is natural to prepare for self defense.

[Moses Tesfay @MosesTesfay]

@regasa_tulu Hahaha, you are so funny, it is your government who was committed the genocide against the Tigrain people. You divide and concord tactics is not going to work with two people.

[Moses Tesfay @MosesTesfay]

@regasa_tulu Your statement might be true in the eye of the foreign country, but the decision falls in the Eritrean people, not Ethiopia, UAE or Israel.

[Moses Tesfay @MosesTesfay]

@regasa_tulu Keep dreaming Oromo man. I bet you no Afar would be with Oromo people like you.
