Yes Mahudhee was found kneeling inside the second chamber with his oxygen tank completely empty and his regulator detached. And an unused reserve tank marked right near the entrance of the second chamber not even far away.

What actually happened?

This was a recovery mission planned by the MNDF to take place over 3 days, with a squad of 7 divers split across 3 days. checking the 1st chamber on day one(14 may), the 2nd chamber on day two(15 may), and the 3rd chamber on day three(16 may). Even though MNDF did not use the most proper equipment, they carried out the operation the best way possible given what was available.

On the third day, a team of 6 went to check the 3rd chamber and 5 waited in the second chamber, sending team lead diver Mahudhee all alone to check the third chamber. When Mahudhee did not return, the remaining 5 went to the surface without waiting for Mahudhee, eventhough they had an unused reserve tank with them, and claimed that Mahudhee went to the third chamber and failed to return. This triggered an emergency, because returning back down again to the second chamber to search for Mahudhee was against dive protocols and impossible for the 5 MNDF divers who had surfaced.

So they called Marine Police divers from Felidhoo, who arrived after a 25 to 30 minute speedboat ride and immediately went down to find Mahudhee, who had been underwater the entire time during that 25 to 30 minute travel window.

When they dived down into the second chamber, Mahudhee was already dead, kneeling with his regulator detached and the reserve tank untouched right by the entrance of the second chamber.

I held back from posting these specific details earlier because MNDF source requested not to do so, but now they are completely fed up with Muizzu.

Note: The changes on Mahudhee's body were not the typical post-mortem changes seen in someone who dies of decompression sickness. The reason his face was covered way more than usual during the funeral was because parts of his face were severely bruised and swollen.

▫️Mahudhee had previously suffered from decompression sickness during a recovery mission at 4kland where his dive buddy panicked. Even though he survived that time, Mahudhee surfaced without undergoing proper decompression protocols while bringing up both the recovered body and his buddy. After that incident Mahudhee did not dive at all for 6 months.
