So because Tinubu’s wife gave the students means of transportation, they can’t say no? Or go for what will give them a peaceful life? Ori gbogbo yin ti daru papo!🫵🏻 OAU isn’t a playground for dirty politics! Eyin Alatenuje oshi.

How the teachers welcomed their students back to school yesterday….You’ll just know they’re getting paid well cos you no fit Dey collect 65k make you dey do this 😂✨
Our Demands are simple. Give us a system of transportation that won't make us suffer long ques, class lateness, and endure harsh weather conditions if you can't restore the former systems of transportation.

🚨 WE SAY NO TO OPPRESSION; OAU MUST DO BETTER
We are not asking for luxury.
We are demanding functionality.
At Obafemi Awolowo University, students are being stretched beyond academic limits not by rigour, but by systemic failure. A university that prides itself on excellence cannot continue to operate on structures that actively frustrate learning.
Let’s be clear:
This is not about “students being dramatic.”
This is about policy without practicality.
A transportation system was introduced, yet students trek extreme distances daily not out of choice, but because access has been restricted without adequate alternatives. You have tickets. You have cash. But there is no bus. No tricycle. Just exhaustion.
And then comes the irony;
Lectures hold arbitrarily. Tests are conducted under unclear conditions. Attendance is weaponized against students already battling logistics.
This is not resilience-building.
This is institutional negligence disguised as discipline.
So what should be done?
1. Immediate Transport Audit & Expansion
The current system must be transparently reviewed. Increase fleet size, decentralize access points, and ensure availability matches student population not assumptions.
2. Hybrid Academic Flexibility
Where logistics fail, academics must adapt. Recorded lectures, flexible attendance policies, and humane scheduling should not be revolutionary ideas in 2026.
3. Student-Inclusive Policy Making
Decisions affecting 35,000+ students cannot remain top-down. Representation must go beyond symbolic committees; students should have binding input.
4. Accountability Framework
If a system fails, there must be responsibility. Not press statements. Not deflection. Actionable timelines and measurable fixes.
We have consulted.
We have consolidated.
Now we are speaking.
Not out of rebellion but out of reason.
Education should not feel like punishment.
If excellence is truly the goal, then the environment must enable it.
Until then, we will continue to say it; clearly, boldly, and collectively:
WE SAY NO TO EVERY FORM OF OPPRESSION.

The management is making it look like our request is unreasonable, meanwhile, we just want our lives back to normal.
We are not asking for too much! I want to be proud of my school again. I want to proudly say I’m a student of OAU with a great smile.
It’s not too much to ask!
