Cooperating with the kuffār to repel Khawārij and bughāt is fisq according to the majority unless there’s a true need for it, and even then under the condition that the banner of the Muslims is dominant and the kuffār have no way to enforce their authority over the Muslims. If the Muslims are subservient to the banner of the kuffār and the kuffār are able to enforce their authority over the Muslims, it is apostasy.

Abū Muḥammad ibn Ḥazm said in al-Muḥallā:

“As for one of the Muslims living in the frontier regions who, out of tribal zeal or partisan fervor, seeks the assistance of belligerent polytheists (al-mushrikūn al-ḥarbiyyūn), and gives them free rein to kill the Muslims who oppose him, or to seize their wealth or take them captive:

If his own authority is the dominant one, and the disbelievers are merely like his followers, then he is doomed and guilty of the gravest wickedness (fisq), but he does not thereby become a disbeliever, because he has not committed anything for which the Qur'an or a consensus (ijmāʿ) establishes disbelief.

However, if the authority of the disbelievers prevails over him, then he is, by that, a disbeliever, according to what we have previously explained.

But if the two are equal, such that neither one's authority prevails over the other, then we do not consider him thereby to be a disbeliever. And Allah knows best.”

Shaykh ʿAbd al-Laṭīf Āl ash-Shaykh said in Durar as-Saniyyah:

“As for a Muslim seeking the assistance of a polytheist (mushrik) against a rebellious aggressor (al-bāghī), none held this view except one who was anomalous (shādhdh), relying upon analogy (qiyās) while failing to examine the operative cause (manāṭ) of the ruling and the common factor (jāmiʿ) between the original case and its subsidiary case.

Whoever rushes toward such anomalous opinions and relies upon them in his quotations and legal verdicts has pursued concessions (tatabbuʿ al-rukhaṣ) and abandoned the established principle affirmed by the early generations of the Ummah and its Imams, which is derived from the hadith of al-Ḥasan and the hadith of al-Nuʿmān ibn Bashīr.”

And he said in Majmūʿat al-Rasāʾil wa al-Masāʾil al-Najdiyyah:

“As for your permitting seeking assistance from them, the dispute is not regarding this particular issue. Rather, the dispute concerns appointing them (giving them authority), bringing them into the Muslim lands, and enabling them to enter a Muslim territory in which they destroyed the symbols of Islam, the foundations of the religion, and its principles and branches.

Their leaders have a law and a ṭāghūt that they have formulated in order to judge between people regarding bloodshed, wealth, and other matters. It is opposed to and contrary to the revealed texts. When a case is presented to them, they examine it and judge according to it, while casting the Book of Allah behind their backs.”

Abeer Qassim Hamza al-Janabi was an Iraqi Muslim schoolgirl gang-raped and murdered alongside her family by white American Christian soldiers in her home in March 2006. And everyone needs to know her name.

The details will shock you to the core. But it’s important to know her story, especially now because the same far right who justify the targeting of Muslims at home need reminding of what they did and celebrated abroad.

In 2006, during the US led occupation of Iraq, US soldiers based at a checkpoint in the village of Yusufiyah began sexually harassing 14 year old Abeer on her trips to school.

Several times the soldiers even entered her house and made gestures towards Abeer. But the father didn’t think it too serious as she was just a schoolgirl.

However, on 12 March, Abeer was told to stay at home to stay home with her parents, along with her sister, while her two brothers went to school, to keep her safe from the lecherous soldiers.

The family was poor. They all lived in a one-bedroom rental house. But it was home.

Who could have known on that fateful day that Abeer would have been far safer on the war torn streets of Baghdad than her own home. They all would have.

In broad daylight, 5 soldiers from 502 Infantry regiment forcibly entered the al-Janabi family home. The soldiers separated Abeer from her parents and her six-year-old sister (Hadeel). Ringleader, Steven Green, shot and killed the mother (Fakhriyah), father (Qasim), and younger sister after trying them up, while Abeer screamed for help, before participating in her gang-rape. Abeer heard the shots that killed her parents and sister as they raped her. Green subsequently shot Abeer in the head several times. The soldiers set her body and the house on fire to cover up the crimes.

The two boys were the only survivors from the family, because they’d been at school.

The US soldiers lied to cover up their crimes, claiming Sunni insurgents were responsible. But the truth came out soon enough.

The culprits were eventually tried, convicted and given long sentences.

However, this was not an isolated incident. Anti-Arab racism, Islamophobia, and systemic dehumanisation played a foundational role in these crimes and countless others.

In May 2009, President Obama blocked the publication of *hundreds* of classified military photographs depicting the torture, rape, and sexual abuse of Iraqi Muslim detainees.

He thought the truth would harm US troops and inflame anti-US coalition opinion. I wonder why?

The photos included US soldiers:

*raping a female prisoner.
*sexually assaulting a male detainee.
*sexually assaulting prisoners with objects including truncheons and tubes.
*forcing prisoners into sexually humiliating positions
*sexually abusing children in front of their mothers

Understanding the mindset and prejudices of these depraved people is paramount because it’s the same one that’s on the rise throughout USA, UK, Europe and beyond.

The racists and Muslim-haters are in ascendancy yet again. They need to be reminded about their role in illegal invasion and occupation of others’ lands and the torture, rape and murder in which they revel.
