In 1991, artist Michael J. Deas enlisted Jennifer Joseph to model for the updated Torch Lady logo for Columbia Pictures.

Jennifer Joseph had no prior experience modeling or acting. Deas, known for his lifelike art, wanted to design a timeless and strong symbol, and Joseph was a perfect fit.

The photo session happened in Deas' New Orleans studio, helped by photographer Kathy Anderson. Deas turned Joseph's photos into a painting that became the updated Torch Lady logo.

The logo featured a detailed 3D figure in a robe holding a torch, surrounded by glowing light.

Since its debut in 1993, the Torch Lady logo has had few changes and remains a symbol of Columbia Pictures' storied past in the film industry.

Joseph didn't anticipate her image becoming so well-known, but her involvement was crucial in creating the logo we recognize today.
