I was a campus pastor for 39 years. Now I am trying to share with folks what I learned about the effectiveness of our attempts to spiritually raise our kids.
@TMobileHelp You sent out emails saying your T-Fiber issues in NC have been resolved. My internet has gone out twice today and is currently not working in Lewisville NC. What’s happening?
@Lowes Since when did you start believing in deceptive advertising? Advertising battery-powered tools where the battery has to be bought separately. Really? It’s like Ford advertising a truck with the engine sold separately. Your customers deserve better!

Here's an article for News of the Butt. Pretty interesting! BTW, we have a mutual friend--John Hendrix. I was John's campus minister at the University of Kansas. Very talented guy and solid Christian! Blessings! @philvischer

@MAGAVoice Mr. President, say whatever you want about January 6th. It doesn’t change the facts of what we saw with our own eyes and the fact that police officers were attacked violently by your supporters. Just because you say something is true doesn’t necessarily make it so.
@Markins Matt, I would say rather that the most strategic pastors invest in adult discipleship so then as parents they can disciple their children at the critical stages. This is the biblical way per Deuteronomy 6 & 11.
@Markins@BarnaGroup@Awana Matt, this is how the local church has been training parents to think for decades. Children’s and youth ministries have been used to draw parents to churches by basically saying, “We’ll take care of the spiritual needs of your kids.”
@Markins Because the local churches by and large don’t emphasize training. They have long adopted a passive listening method (sermons, SS lessons, workshops, conferences) where all the emphasis is listening to speakers. How is one trained? Not solely by listening.
My YouTube channel, Views from Downstream, is now up and running! Each week (Mon. Wed. Fri.), I'll post three short videos talking about how Christian parents and local churches can be more effective in raising kids spiritually. Subscribe by clicking on the UpStream logo.
@Markins@BritishBakeOff We’ve been fans for years. Love that everyone is so nice to each other, unlike many American competition shows. This season is another good one. Can’t believe Prue is 84 years old! She looks and acts years younger.
