Josette is an Ōtautahi based singer songwriter who began her original music endeavours in 2021. This week's Making Tracks feature is known for tight grooves, catchy melodies and strong storytelling.
I imagined this entire scenario. A lot of people think it’s a sexual song, and I love that, so if you do, don’t change your interpretation! All I'll say is that it’s written from the perspective of a money-hungry talent agent."

Our mate @patrickgowernz is about to take on a 130km bike ride from Oakura beach to the town of Whangamomona to fundraise for charity So They Can, which helps kids in Kenya get the basics they need to live. Chuck in a few to help him meet his goal: https://t.co/vvyNA3O383
This week's @nzonairmusic Making Tracks feature dbls as our NZ On Air Under The Mic guest! Aotearoa’s successful @mildorangemusic dropped 'Oh Yeah' – a gorgeously lush & introspective track that’ll delight the steadfast 'day ones' and no doubt, draw in a whole bunch of new fans.
'Oh Yeah' is a song "intentionally about nothing", says the band’s Josh Mehrtens (AKA Mehrt)."
I wanted to write lyrics about nothing, which meant little to me at the time except just to purely feel good."

We will miss Wendy’s contributions to the station, but we are sincerely grateful for her years of dedication and hard work to make The Most what it is today, and to have kept it operating when times were at that hardest. Best wishes, Wendy! Catch you on the flip side.
Special farewell to longtime Mostie and Sat Morning Roast DJ, Wendy Munro. Joining the station back in 2009/10 because of her keen and in-depth interest in music, Wendy quickly took on other tasks such as managing accounts and sitting as Trust secretary & minute-taker.
And of course @TAFT_ArtsFest's @womadNZ brekky wasn't what it was without Wendy’s support, often with the extra hands of her sister who would come all the way up from Wellington for that sweet WOMAD buzz.
This new track is a whole vibe and we think you'll love it.
The band joins us live in the studio this Friday! Tune in from 8.15am. Livestream: https://t.co/A6a9v5BdW6

Initially formed as Wellington high school band, the Māori-led post-punk four-piece Vietnam first stepped into the music scene c.1981-85. Their self-titled debut EP is often described as a “lost classic” of NZ music. Splitting up just as it was released...
..it would be more than 30 years before the band reunited and when their music would be rediscovered by US and EU audiences.
Now a six-piece band based between Sydney and Wellington, Vietnam - NZ have released latest single 'What Have I Done?'.

Wellington six-piece TOI have carved out a reputation as one of the tightest live acts around, a point reinforced on the release of soulful, funk-based 'I Wanna Rock' (Live). This never-before-released track, & this week's Making Tracks feature, has become a crowd favourite.
Recorded at the band's home turf, Meow, the track showcases TOI in their element – on stage performing to a sold-out hometown crowd.
