Artificial intelligences do not undergo experiences, do not possess a body, do not feel joy or pain, do not mature through relationships, and do not know from within what love, work, friendship or responsibility mean. Nor do they have a moral conscience, since they do not judge good and evil, grasp the ultimate meaning of situations, or bear responsibility for consequences. They may imitate or even simulate, but they do not understand what they produce, for they lack the affective, relational, and spiritual perspective through which human beings grow in wisdom. #MagnificaHumanitas
A classical view of beauty sees a beautiful person, a baby, and a tree as expressions of the same thing. I think lots of people now seem to mistake glamour and polish for beauty, rather than seeing them as complementary but independent characteristics. internet issue maybe.
"In our digital age, we're swimming in gigabytes of data, but thirsting for reality. We're drowning in information, but starved for genuine community."

This is one of the most beautiful elements about the Judeo-Christian wisdom tradition. Wisdom is hidden primarily because of our inability to see and court her. She is an open secret; she wants to be found. The great Mystery is a world away from the “mystery” or occult faiths.
@BretDevereaux Achilles was real and you can't convince me otherwise, I unironically believe it on faith because it's a better, more hopeful, more enchanted way to view the world
Beware of those who boldly claim an end or limit to God’s mercy. The way we live on Earth matters, but none of us “earn a ticket to heaven” through faith or otherwise. Your brother’s dad fell short of the Glory of God… just like everyone else. Pray. The prayers of the righteous avail much.
frankly, the way i perceive time is through others. i only feel the weight of it whenever i see my friends after a long time. i only feel it breathing down my neck whenever my mother or my sister celebrates their birthday. i only recognize it as the shadow of the people i love.
"Spells are used for breaking enchantments as well as for inducing them. And you and I have need of the strongest spell that can be found to wake us from the evil enchantment of worldliness which has been laid upon us for nearly a hundred years."
