On Thursday, the United States vetoed a draft resolution from the United Nations Security Council that called for an immediate, unconditional, and permanent ceasefire in Gaza. The resolution also demanded that Israel lift all restrictions on aid deliveries to the Palestinian enclave and release all captives held by the Hamas group.
