Only 25% of workers enjoy a healthy work relationship, affecting both people and orgs. We must challenge the false dichotomy between productivity and joy. We need a new leadership style that engages hearts and minds for superior productivity. #leadership#management

I am back from my trip to #DRC.
I'm still processing what I just experienced but, in light of recent news, I want to say just three things:
1. DRC remains one of the most dynamic and alive nations on Earth, due entirely to a generation of young Congolese who know exactly what they want from their country and are actively pursuing it.
2. DRC's best business opportunities for global investors is not mining but the rest of the productive sector - manufacturing, construction, transport, etc- and in partnership with family-run, Congolese-owned companies.
3. DRC governance is clearly improving given the ease by which I was able to travel to and conduct business in Mbandaka, Kinshasa, Matadi, Boma, and Muanda. The primary issue, however, remains corruption - petty and large - that weakens governance, makes life too hard for average Congolese, and invites aggression and exploitation by foreign nations.
I return to the US more confident than ever that despite its many challenges, #DRC remains among the world's most exciting emerging nations.

In 2016, a Japanese ice cream company released a nationwide commercial apologizing for raising the price of its ice cream bars from 60 yen to 70 yen, marking the first price increase in roughly 25 years. The increase was only about 10 cents, but the company still issued a formal apology to customers.
The 2016 commercial from Akagi Nyugyo gained widespread attention in Japan for treating a very small price increase with remarkable seriousness. Many viewers found it amusing and somewhat surreal that the company delivered a formal apology, complete with deep bows, over a rise of just 10 yen.
At the same time, others praised the gesture as a reflection of strong customer respect and transparency. After keeping prices unchanged for roughly 25 years, the company chose to openly acknowledge the increase rather than quietly raising the cost.
An honor to speak at the United Nations HQ in New York at a dialogue convened by the President of the U.N. General Assembly on global commodity markets and economic diversification. The focus was on the energy, minerals & ag commodities central to commodity-dependent economies 1/

30 Things To Do With Them Before Time Moves On :
1. Record their voice telling a story.
One day that voice becomes a sound you can never hear again.
A day 60+ years in the making.
It is with great pride and so much gratitude that I share with you that I am a college graduate with a Bachelor's in History from @CalStateLA.
There aren't words adequate enough to encapsulate all that I am feeling in this moment, so I'll simply say this:
It is never too late to learn, to grow, or to chase the dream that still quietly calls your name. Life has a way of rerouting our paths and asking us to begin again when we least expect it.
But the dream does not expire simply because time has passed.
Whether you're 18 or 82, your goals are still worthy of pursuit.
Keep going for it. Keep believing in yourself. And never let anyone convince you that your moment has passed. Because sometimes the most meaningful victories arrive after the longest journeys.

This is a sad reality, Since 1997, the conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has resulted in one of the world's longest-standing and most severe displacement crises, with over 1 million Congolese refugees currently living abroad and nearly 7 million internally displaced persons (IDPs) within the country.
