@BladeoftheS Yet again, utter rubbish. Electricity is not sold at cost in France - profit is built in. The state owns a majority of the shares but there’s also a substantial private ownership. Prices are cheap because 70% of electricity is produced by Nuclear power in France.
@JacobCollierMP@RupertLowe10 I don’t think you’re correct on that point. He’s not against legal migrants who embrace and respect British law, culture and traditions. Perhaps Rupert can confirm?
@Keir_Starmer Hypocrisy reigns supreme! The Makerfield by-election was contrived. Not only that, but there’ll be the even larger expense of a Mayoral election. I presume that these will be paid for out of Labour Party funds?
@PaulGib27705714 Kemi hasn’t yet been PM. You can’t blame her for what previous Tory leaders didn’t do. It didn’t help that they inherited a basket case of borrowing and crushingly expensive ongoing PPFI commitments from Blair/Brown & then there was Covid.
@RichardBurgon Could be tricky when about 46% of Labour MPs have second jobs. The only way you’ll solve it is to significantly increase MP pay and halve the number of them. We might then get a few more talented people standing for election.
@Keir_Starmer The economy is no better than it was and is arguably worse than it would have been had you not been in government. The NHS still needs the total reform that both Labour and Conservatives have bottled out of doing.
Defence has just been given another bandage. Not great!
@BladeoftheS Not all correct! Just take rivers; British rivers are “significantly” cleaner post privatisation of water. As strange as it may seem to you and some others, our rivers were far more polluted prior to 1989.
@Baronbigbucks@David90shaw@UKLabour Unfortunately, too few have run a business, most haven’t even worked in the private sector and are totally out of their depth when it comes to making the UK economy work. So, anyone who pretends to know gets their support!
@_james_inman@JohnCleese Whilst Colonialism wasn’t all great, the British Empire was possibly the least destructive of local cultures (although it did take a dim view of cannibalism 😊).
@LibbyTard17@matt_dathan We never previously had them in such relatively large numbers over such a short time. It is difficult for society to assimilate such large numbers into our culture and values. That’s where the issue lies - too many are not inclined to respect our culture and values.
@Keir_Starmer Making Britain “Fairer” is a matter of opinion. Many, both amongst the higher earners and amongst lower earners would very much disagree. You seem to think it’s okay to steal peoples earnings and job opportunities, spend taxes wastefully and give even more to the workshy is fair
@BladeoftheS Yet again you are being deliberately disingenuous. The 60% less likely to claim benefits was from a specific study, from 15-20yrs ago, of EU migrants. The more recent wave of migrants is a different story, particularly when adjusted for the fact that few are of pension age.
