We’re back to Sweden soon to walk across Sarek National Park. Spent the last couple of weekends studying the maps, sorting logistics and making porridges. Super excited!
Want to amplify this piece from Chris.
I too fondly remember the CWT; the highlands have given me so much to be grateful for. But the needless mismanagement of land is a source of lingering regret, inseparable from the thrill of a summit and the memory of a day in the hills.
@townsendoutdoor Enjoy! I have many fond memories of this route. In particular, as someone who was relatively new to the highlands when I walked this, it taught me a lot about how the great diversity of landscapes that make up the highlands fit together into a coherent whole
Hallival and Barkeval
Up on the Rum Cuillin with views towards Askival, Ainshval and Trollabhal – as the names suggest, the Norse history feels prevalent here. Nice to meet a group finishing their Corbett round in this spectacular place.

Ladhar Beinn
Up from Inverie via Mam Barisdale gives a great (and lengthy!) ridge walk to the summit. Cloud level just high enough for a views down Loch Hourn and across to the Skye Cuillin.
