There’s so many treasures to find in archive collections, and the 3rd Marquess of Bute’s Papers is no exception! 🐦‍⬛

This pen & ink drawing is by H.W. Lonsdale and it depicts a fairy feeding hungry birds perched on the branches of a tree 🌲 #ExploreYourArchive #EYAArt

Prior to Horatio W. Lonsdale’s stunning cartoons being drawn up for Mount Stuart’s Zodiac Windows, scale watercolour designs were created 🌟 This drawing for the Sagittarius window is only 17cm high by 5cm wide, and drawn to 3/4 inch scale #ExploreYourArchive #EYASmall

This cartoon represents Sagittarius and is part of Mount Stuart’s Marble Hall Zodiac Windows: 1 of 24 designs created by Horatio W. Lonsdale in the late 1880s ✨ Each cartoon spans an amazing 292cm in height and showcases Lonsdale’s remarkable skill #ExploreYourArchive #EYABig

We visited Mount Stuart to learn about the history of the house and grounds, and to meet with Dylan, this year's Emerging Artist in Residence at Mount Stuart. Dylan's project focuses on tactile engagement, and it was fantastic to speak with Dylan about his project.
