people misunderstand the icarus story. the problem was not that he flew too high. it's that the wings were made of beeswax, which offered very little resistance to heating. with modern materials he would have had no problems. we can fly as close to the sun as we want now
@usr_bin_roygbiv vast majority of oop is for sure brain damage. these guys really enjoy running in circles chasing their own tails. and then they argue for it because its the "proper way". ros2 is this btw
biggest mistake of controls is thinking that state is a function of time. NO. time IS state. controls is a recurrence relation between state iterations.
world state space isn't
pos = [x, y, z]
it's actually timeless 4d space:
pos = [t, x, y, z]
that is more elegantly described relativistically:
pos = [ct, x, y, z]
where c is the speed of light in m/s,
because space and time are one in the same.
the real hack is realizing you can integrate velocity as v = dx / d(ct) where velocity is dimensionless, and is measured as a fraction of the speed of light
@usr_bin_roygbiv i think this is a huge sleeper dude ive been thinking text diffusion is a much bigger deal than people think for a while now and am surprised no one even talks about it
also projects that are scoped in to stacks that the company works with are huge pluses to certain hiring managers, especially startups and small companies imo. a project done beautifully that you can talk about clearly on a stack that a company uses goes really far for a lot of hiring managers imo.
@tebillusassort twitter has a lot of ad-hoc postings and companies that have hiring pages a bit off the beaten path. i haven't tried this yet but i don't think it's a bad idea. also briansjobsearch is golden
wdym good to contact? are you applying through a public job board or targeting people already at companies you want to work for?
ask questions that show a genuine interest and understanding, and that demonstrate you would be able to offer a lot of value to the team and are eager to help tackle issues in an insightful way
