@seangois @owenbroadcast One of the tantalizing things about flat earth is that it portrays the area in which we live as essentially a warm circle surrounded by an ice wall. Which opens up the possibility of other circles and ice walls. Not in space, but just beyond Antarctica. They could be “worlds.”

@laethcore @rodguze The relationship between men and women in the west is so damaged that even our politics act out the divide—the worst version of the feminine (left) fighting with the worst version of the masculine (right), neither of which even deserve their own titles.

@laethcore @rodguze Here in Canada, it is most common to make signing the legal document part of the marriage ceremony. Caving to that tradition is pretty much my only regret about my wedding. Marriage is not a tax strategy.

@seangois @owenbroadcast Interesting! Aside from the compelling things about Mormonism, this thread makes me wonder two things: are there Mormons, who believe in the many world theory, and are there flat earth Mormons?

@seangois @Chronodendron I didn’t know how authoritarian I was until I had an obstinate child. I eventually had to decide I couldn’t be what I needed to be to get him to “behave” because I’d be a monster.

@seangois @Chronodendron We’ve got a kid with pretty severe anxiety about sleep. At a certain point we had to cave to his need for extra time from us at night because the cost of the alternative was extreme. No reward, demand or punishment worked. Restraint would have been the only way.

The nice thing about this era of fashion is that you can generally wear any fit of pants that is flattering to your particular frame and unless they’re extreme on the baggy or tight and most people will agree you look great.
