Just learned that holding ZEC isn’t the same as using Zcash.
If it stays in a transparent address it’s basically public like Bitcoin.
The moment you move it to a shielded address the sender,receiver and amount all disappear thanks to zk-SNARKs.
You still get viewing keys if you ever need to prove something without giving spend access. Privacy that’s optional instead of forced feels like the right approach.
