I've tweeted it before - but I'm just gonna tweet it again. This picture of 5 year old me is a whole mood. That face? Exactly how I feel. Nothing has changed.
@spenshi That is worrisome! If it's getting worse - infection can move into the bone, and it can require IV antibiotics. Can you take a picture and send it to the doctor in MyChart and let the know what you're experiencing?
@TallCoreopsis Actually had already ended up researching this out of curiosity! Turns out Pygmy Hippos have to be acclimated to water while very small in order to be healthy as adults and won't do it themselves. If their parents aren't doing an adequate job of it - they make them take baths!
@PanickedFoodie Oh! Interesting! I hadn't heard of this one. Sigh. It's so hard without a centralized resource for these sorts of things. And finding something that has the testing, is affordable, and is available feels like a wild goose chase.
@PanickedFoodie I've heard that the PathoGen1 (reusable) isn't necessarily safe if you need to be latex free, which I do. It's n95 compliant, but not certified. No NIOSH either. The Optrel site says they are backordered, and so are their licensed retailers. There are "dupes" out there,but...🥴
@PanickedFoodie The Optrel P.Air is the only NIOSH certified one I'm aware of. I don't get a perfect seal with them, but it's better than nothing. However, I've been unable to get them from a reliable/certified source without an employer to purchase them for me.
@PanickedFoodie Completely agree. It's HARD as an individual trying to access certified/real clear n95s. Cost is $150+ for 20ish masks. They're sold out most places, meaning you have to have an org behind you to purchase in bulk. & they only come in one shape, so getting a good seal can be hard.
@PanickedFoodie Ooph. That's a different story.
I wish those were still easy/accessible to get. There was a time when I could get them regularly, and it was much easier when I was employed by a hospital, but now have had trouble getting my hands on them.
@PanickedFoodie I always mask. When speaking/presenting sometimes I temp unmask (if I feel safe doing so) for accessibility/lip reading/etc. But it's when I'm speaking that camera is on. I worry that result = image is that I'm not masking. Which scares me. Makes me wonder, is that at play here?
Had an amazing time at BroadwayCon as a panelist. Speaking to about the creation of children’s media/theatre for the purpose of building coping skills and emotional health in the face of chronic illness/disability has been incredible. I can’t wait to see what comes next.
@sheologian That is wild. I attended three divinity schools over the course of my M.Div - two PC(USA) one UCC and 2/3 (one of each denomination) covered that explicitly with us.
@LindsayLOconnor Never punishing me when "clutter" got out of control, but instead helping me reset back to baseline, and try again. Encouraging me to keep building good habits. No fear, shame, or anger. Understanding that it was a source of anxiety for me too. (Not laziness or lack of effort.)
@JillianWeise crip sighting? crip scare? My brain also thinks of the German unerwartet (unexpected/dly) and wants to make it "unerwar-criptet" the unexpected cripple, with crip literally interrupting the word.
@BerryBetic Oh noooo! I think folks would have strokes if I left the RCL for any more than 90 percent of my sermons. 😅 May sleep and the spirit come easy tonight and tomorrow! 🔥🙌
@BerryBetic Also wrapping up writing this evening after a weird/long week. Let me know if you want a copy of mine, always happy to share, and prayers for tomorrow. <3
