Despite conflict & attacks on essential infrastructure, El Obeid Maternity Hospital continues to provide life-saving care. W/ support from #Canada & #Norway, @UNFPA restored reliable power through solar energy and strengthened maternal health services with essential supplies.
We visited Al-Jabalain Hospital today. The destruction is devastating.
Once a lifeline for hundreds of thousands, it can no longer provide care. Women have lost access to safe childbirth services.
Health facilities must never be a target.

UNFPA deployed a mobile health team to deliver lifesaving reproductive health & protection services to women & girls displaced from Kordofan region to El Obeid, as fighting in the area intensifies. Humanitarian needs are rising rapidly, while resources remain extremely limited.
