🎥 NEW: Camp. It’s a slippery term, easily applied to any grandly staged production by some and rigorously nitpicked and scientifically labeled by others. But with The Fast and the Furious, @movieop explains why this franchise hits the mark:

and low and behold, the combo turned on my body. Starting T as a transmasc person often increases sex drive, and being an untreated trans person often leads to depression. My Dr knows trans healthcare, understood the combo, and let me see if this could happen
also, this is why doctors who know about trans healthcare are invaluable. I went in with a nearly nonexistent sex drive, and my Dr listened to me explain that I don't suspect I'm asexual, so prescribed this combo since it doesn't lower sex drive like other antidepressants
It also led to a broader flagging of accessibility issues with the bathrooms, which both she and I had noticed but never discussed with anyone cause tbh we were being complacent about things that didn't directly affect us
Everyone at my work has been very chill about me coming out as trans and today my boss had a whole meeting with the building manager where we rent office space to formally request/demand they put in gender-neutral bathrooms because the solution I had worked out fell through
my boss wasn't aware of the bathroom issue or that I had sorted out a solution on my own. she only found out because I asked to leave early when the solution fell through.
Not knowing isn't a problem. We all don't know things.
1 month on T observations:
-quickly felt natural, like nothing
-I am now a horny teenage boy with the life of a 36-year-old adult. I don't have time for this
-voice changes are uncomfortable
-the sweat is hitting, as is the oily face
-I haven't been this happy in...maybe ever
There’s no moral to this story that isn’t trite. It is just a matter of keeping going. Of finding people who can support you through the dark stuff. And maybe, just maybe, you can get through some of the worst life throws at you.
I had intended to be open about this, for whatever it's worth, but I forgot. Which almost makes this a better story?
I attempted suicide when I was 18. Just barely stopped myself, so it falls into the aborted category. And this August marked 18 years since the attempt.
I took massive steps throughout August, and by the time the month ended, I wasn’t looking back anymore. I was looking forward, and that made me forget about the anniversary.
