I and Anushka Malik attempt to document and preserve a depiction of what an evening looked like in Kashmir's ‘recent’ past. Read our piece, "Digrich Chai," published in the Economic and Political Weekly @epw_in#kashmir

Read today’s Greater Kashmir as Prof. Tamanna Shah takes forward the discussion on thaumaturgy in Kashmir history, contextualising its social and cultural aspects.
"Inspired by Moin Hakak’s illuminating editorial on Thaumaturgical Practices in Kashmir History, published in Greater Kashmir on June 12, 2025—a piece that brilliantly captures how the miraculous emerges from the margins of troubled times"

Death toll in Kashmir terror strike has risen to over 20.: final death toll could be higher. This is a ghastly terror strike claimed by a Lashkar linked Pak backed Islamist outfit . Worst incident since Pulwama in Feb 2019. And whatever spin is given, let’s be clear: a) Pakistan based cross border terror has NOT been eliminated b) this is a MAJOR security and intelligence failure c) Tourists are a SOFT target for terror: aim is to disrupt the tourist economy which is heart of valley’s economic revival and to target Hindu tourists to widen Hindu-Muslim divide on ground d) J and K pre and post Article 370 abrogation remains unsettled so long as terrorists backed by Pakistani army remain active and credible political solutions are not found. Heart goes out to victims and families. 🙏🙏
I wrote something about Hindu-Muslim relations in Kashmir after the coming of Islam. The article has been published by the daily @GreaterKashmir Click on the link to read it.
"Historical accounts suggest that increased social interactions fostered interdependence between Hindus and Muslims of Kashmir"
