Jetzt, wo die Sommerferien vor der Tür stehen und wieder viele verreisen, möchte ich eines loswerden: An alle, die es auch heute noch für eine gute Idee halten, auf Tieren durch die Gegend zu reiten oder sich von ihnen tragen zu lassen… ein herzliches und wirklich von ganzem Herzen gemeintes:

Niemand kann mir heute noch ernsthaft erzählen, er habe von der Ausbeutung, den Schmerzen und dem Leid dieser Tiere nichts gewusst. Diese Informationen sind längst für jeden zugänglich.

Wer trotzdem darauf zurückgreift, entscheidet sich bewusst dafür, das eigene Vergnügen über das Wohl eines Lebewesens zu stellen. Dabei gibt es unzählige Alternativen: Geht zu Fuß, nutzt öffentliche Verkehrsmittel, ein Auto, ein Fahrrad oder einen E-Rollerr, völlig egal. Aber hört auf, Tiere als Fortbewegungsmittel zu benutzen, nur damit ihr ein schönes Urlaubsfoto oder eine vermeintlich besondere Erfahrung habt.

Und das gilt genauso für Attraktionen wie das Schwimmen mit Delfinen oder den Besuch von Shows und Anlagen, in denen Wale oder Delfine in Becken gehalten werden. Ein Aquarium oder ein Betonbecken ersetzt niemals den Ozean.

Tiere sind keine Touristenattraktionen, keine Kulisse für Urlaubsfotos und keine Unterhaltung! Sie verdienen Respekt und ein Leben, das ihren natürlichen Bedürfnissen gerecht wird.
