Congratulations to our former colleague at @Peace_Track Ms Afraa Hariri for winning this well deserved award by @theGCERF@ResonateYemen. Afraa led for us, PTI project on developing local P/CVE plan for Aden supported by @whatthewomensay and project on localising WPS supported by @gnwp_gnwp among many other peacebuilding reforms. This recognition is a testament for us all.
For years, the Iranian regime has used ambiguity to buy time, attention and legitimacy. While, the people of #Iran continue to pay the highest price.
While negotiations drag on, repression continues. #Executions rise. Critics are silenced. Families live under constant fear.
Het stof is weer gedaald. We blikken terug op een van de belangrijkste momenten in de geschiedenis van Femmes for Freedom: de presentatie van onze modelwet op de grootste vrouwenrechtenconferentie ter wereld. 🌎
Op 11 maart vond ons lang gedroomde side event plaats tijdens de Commission on the Status of Women in New York, Ending Marital Captivity: Legal Revolution from the Netherlands, bij de Nederlandse Permanente Vertegenwoordiging, samen met @GemeenteDenHaag, de Nederlandse regering en @VitalVoices. 🇺

Ali Rahmani, Co-President of the Narges Foundation, to the BBC regarding his mother’s health:
"It has been almost 150 days since I last heard my mother’s voice, and ten years since I have been able to hug her. I was only four years old when my father was first arrested. Since then, either my father was in detention, my mother was in prison, or both were taken from us. As always, I am deeply worried, but I hold onto hope. I know my mother is fighting with immense strength, much like her fellow Iranian feminists and the spirit of our country itself.
My mother began her activism at 20, and my father at 17. Despite the long separations and the high price she has paid, we have always shared a profound connection. When she was home with Kiana and me, she was a wonderful mother. However, since the age of five, I have also known a 'second mother' within her: the human rights activist, the woman who fights for life, and the woman who dedicated her entire existence to a cause, willing to sacrifice her life for her ideals.
If I could speak to her today, my message would remain the same: My dear mother, you are not alone. The people of Iran are fighting hand-in-hand. We all cling to the hope that one day, freedom and democracy will be achieved, and we can finally return to Iran to be together. Whether it is Kiana, my father, or myself, we are here to continue your struggle and serve as your voice. Stay strong."

I am shocked to learn of the assassination of @Wesamqaid, a great development champion who worked tirelessly for Yemen. This is a great loss for Yemen. The assassination of beautiful minds and great community leaders will only send Yemen to doom. This is a devastating alarming escalation. My prayers and thoughts with his family and loved ones.
The Berlin Principles for Sudan: an unprecedented coalition — the African Union, the European Union, co-hosts France, Germany, United Kingdom, and the United States of America, alongside Djibouti, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Norway, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Sudan, Switzerland, Chad, Türkiye, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, the United Nations, Intergovernmental Authority on Development, and the League of Arab States — delivered a clear and unified message: the war in Sudan must end, now.
In line with that unified message, there is strong international backing for urgent action: an immediate humanitarian truce followed by a ceasefire, full humanitarian access and funding, recognition there is no military solution, an end to all external military support, and an urgent, sustained push for a negotiated peace — through an inclusive political process, civil society-led national dialogue, and a transition to a civilian-led government.
The Berlin Principles are not just words — they reflect a firm, collective commitment to end the war and support a peaceful future for Sudan.
Such a devastating blow for Sudan’s resilient democratic movement. I always learned so much from Hamid and appreciated his earnestness and dedication. A brilliant and gentle soul. May his memory be a blessing.
Who belongs in a conversation on the future of democracy? At #OCSS2026, @DemosKratos hosted an unfiltered session to wrestle with that question. Diverse voices from around the world challenged each other's assumptions. Thank you, @cooperation_ca & @ResSocieties, for hosting us!

In February, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Narges Mohammadi was sentenced to another seven and a half years in prison, accused of threatening national security and of "propaganda" against Iran's Islamic system.
At the same time, she had serious health problems, and was soon transferred to a public prison in the remote city of Zanjan in northern Iran - according to her brother, "a dangerous prison with drug criminals and murderers."
Things are said to have gotten even worse for the Nobel Prize winner there. At the end of March, family and supporters were allowed to visit her in prison. She was then found unconscious in bed after a heart attack.
"She has heart problems and blood pressure problems. My family has tried all possible legal avenues with lawyers. It seems that the regime has decided that she will stay in prison and that something will happen to her there," says Hamidreza Mohammadi her brother.
"I'm very afraid that she will simply die. She is nauseous and unable to eat. Everyone is preoccupied with war and oil prices when it comes to Iran. I'm afraid it gives the regime an opportunity to kill Narges." Her brother tells Dagbladet.
Like his family and supporters, the Nobel Committee also shares the concern for Mohammadi's health.
In February, they published a statement condemning Iran's treatment of Mohammadi and demanding her release.
According to the Nobel Committee, during the arrest she was repeatedly kicked in the abdomen and pelvic region and pulled by her hair, causing open wounds on the back of her head.
Despite serious health problems, such as acute heart problems and external injuries, she is denied medical care and is subjected to harsh interrogations and harassment, according to the Norwegian Nobel Committee.
"She has fainted several times, suffers from dangerously high blood pressure and has been denied necessary follow-up for suspected tumors in her breast." they write.
