Unlike the ZUF- Kamson and Meitei Miscreants who killed pastors, Kuki people displayed commendable restrain and released two Catholic religious leaders belonging to Manipur Naga community, who were stranded at Saparmaina Kuki Village after the total shutdown.
Also, all the other 12 Kacha Naga hostages have also been released from Leilon Vaiphei. On the other hand only 8 Kukis have been released by Kacha Nagas in Senapati. Government must step in to secure the release of all the hostages.

PRESS RELEASE : Kuki CSO Working Committee, Ukhrul.
14th May, 2026
The shutdown of NH-202 is not intimidation — it is grief, protest, and a demand for justice for the 3 pastors brutally killed by ZUF-Kamson, a proxy of NSCN(IM).
TANGKHUL CSOs based in Ukhrul and Kamjong Districts, who remained silent through months of restrictions and intimidation now suddenly preach “humanitarian concern” and “free movement.” Mourning cannot be policed, and grief cannot be silenced through threats or rhetoric.
The Kuki-Zo community will mourn with dignity and refuse to be intimidated.

The dastardly murder of three Pastors in #Manipur marks a slide to a bottomless pit. It risks 'an eye for an eye' bid to make us all blind. If this madness isn't stopped at once, we'll all be consumed by mutual hatred. Our future generation will never forgive our mindless acts!
Rev V Sitlhou - killed along with two pastors in an ambush in Kangpokpi - was my grand uncle. As a half Rongmei and half Thadou he was beloved in the Naga and Kuki Zo hills alike. He is survived by his wife, daughter in the US and grandchildren who are half Meitei.
Powerful words by Haominlun Sitlhou, son of Rev. Vumthang Sitlhou who was killed yesterday in an ambush in #Manipur, India. "The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace. Today I want to ask every Christian in Manipur, do you have the fruit of the spirit in you?" - 1/2
Kuki Inpi Manipur condemned false and divisive allegations surrounding the killing of #TBA pastors, urging restraint, truth, and human decency while appealing to all communities to respect the dignity of grieving families and avoid misinformation.

📣📣
Manipur continues to suffer under the failure of governance, where law and order have collapsed and innocent lives are left vulnerable.
The families of Thangtinlen, Thangminlen, Sehginlun, Paogouthang, Thanglenmang, Luntinlal, Hengunsei, Sehminhao, Haominlun, Lamgoulen, Paotinkai, Lunsei, Kaimang and Tonggoulen deserve answers, accountability and above all, the safe and immediate return of their loved ones.
No family should have to live in fear, uncertainty and silence while waiting for news about those who have been taken away from them.
We call upon the Government of India and concerned authorities to act urgently and decisively to ensure their safety and secure their release. Those responsible for this abduction must be identified and held accountable under the law. Justice, peace and human dignity must prevail over violence and intimidation.
This is not just about a list of names but these are sons, brothers, family members and members of a community whose lives matter.
Their families deserve transparency, protection and reassurance that every possible effort is being made to bring them home safely.

Three church leaders from the Thadou Baptist Association Church were assassinated and three others injured in an ambush while returning from an event in India's Manipur State on May 13. The attack has triggered protests and shutdowns across the state. The incident adds to the ongoing ethnic violence that has plagued the region since May 2023, between the dominant majority Hindu Meitei community and the mainly Christian Kuki tribes.
Clashes between the Meitei and Kuki communities in Manipur have resulted in over 260 deaths and the displacement of more than 60,000 people since May 2023. The conflict erupted over issues including job reservations, land rights, and political representation
Killing of Three Tribal Church Leaders Reopens Manipur’s Wounds
The incident has also renewed attention on the complex identity politics surrounding the Thadou community.

14 innocent lives. 14 families trapped in an agonizing nightmare, desperate to know if their loved ones are dead or alive. Every second counts

The video has further intensified public concern by allegedly shedding light on the underlying motive behind the ZUF-Kamson ambush involving the Kuki pastors, raising fresh questions about the intent and circumstances surrounding the attack.
These are not statistics. Thangtinlen, Thangminlen, Sehginlun, Paogouthang, Thanglenmang, Luntinlal, Hengunsei, Sehminhao, Haominlun, Lamgoulen, Paotinkai, Lunsei, Kaimang, and Tonggoulen are real people whose families are still waiting for them to come home safely.
Serious allegations surrounding the killing of three #Kukichurch leaders in Manipur demand a transparent and impartial investigation.
Those responsible must be held accountable to prevent further violence and restore peace.
