🚨A peaceful protest should never be met with force🚨
📍 Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, India 🇮🇳
Disturbing visuals show Sonam Wangchuk being forcibly detained while students and supporters were also allegedly pushed, dragged, and assaulted. If true, this raises serious questions about the right to peaceful protest in a democracy.
Every citizen deserves to be heard—not silenced.
Is this how a democracy treats peaceful protesters?
On the 21st day of his hunger strike, Sonam Wangchuk was forcibly detained by Delhi Police @DelhiPolice. Videos circulating online appear to show students and supporters also being pushed, dragged, and removed during the operation.
Peaceful protest is a constitutional right. Dissent deserves dialogue, not force.

He is not a criminal. Why did you drag him away hiding behind sheets?
He didn’t want to go to the hospital. He wanted to join the Parliament march. But what these police have done- he was not a criminal. The way they took him away hidden under sheets- if you were so concerned about his health, you should have taken him with respect.
In every state, in every district, set up a Jantar Mantar! And protest there just like it has been going on here for a month.
