@zimwhodey Really? Fans of other teams dont call BS on labeling mediocre players as "nailed" in the draft, or prematurely doing so? Not taking up for any team/fan. When we suck and are in shambles, cant take over exaggeration or victory lapping 2021-3. Call it what it is: a disaster.
@UCBarstool@stoolpresidente you may want to have actual fans covering the teams and not shitheads that consistently bury the team in a positive year. Unfollowing bc of the dumb asses Reds comments. Good Bearcats follow but not worth it.
@UCBarstool A joke? Dude fuck off. This account sucks at covering the Reds. Gutty all season and counted out many times and just hung in there. Outmatched by a team with 3x its payroll. Hopefully a foundation to build on. You're a fucking joke and shitty ass fan.
Qualifying for the postseason was not an insignificant development for the Reds. Tangible proof of progress and a small but concrete payoff of a plan that was hatched years ago.
But the fact that they checked the "make the playoffs for the first time in forever" box doesn't obscure that there still lots of work to be done to the roster. If the idea is to simply sit back and spend the offseason thinking that they'll naturally improve from one year to the next without any significant addition from outside ignores how flawed this team was all season and how unproven so many players are.
There's a nice core of guys to build around. Their collection starting pitchers has to be one of the more envied things in the sport. They've got dudes in their lineup with upside.
But it's a pretty big leap to go from a barely above .500 team that scrapes into the playoffs to one that makes the postseason with ease and enters October with legit championship hopes.
I don't know that the Reds can make that leap if the front office spends the coming months not being active and aggressive.
Good night.
@Chris_Roling On the other hand. Getting one that eeks out a few more wins could further obscure clear foundational warts and givr justification for Zac, Duke and others to stick around. So much shit is off they need a reboot beyond a Jake Browning to Russel Wilson type upgrade.
@LanceMcAlister Time for a reboot. See ya Zac and Duke. Not one or the other. Both. Bad drafts. Poor personnel decisions. Unsustainable offensive framework. Bad Defense. Reboot.
When the Bengals went on a playoff run a few years ago, I made a quick vid inspired by the Rocky mentality. Never give up. The 2025 #Reds never gave up. The last two weeks, they took punches, but never flinched. And to win it, you got to get in it. Go #Reds
(Bill Conti/MLB)
@Andrew_Russell7 It can be both. Zac aint it. Duke aint it. Offensive framework does not match personnel. Talent isnt good and this is year 3 of not being able to run the ball. He insists on calling plays and his O aint working and it seems like the D could use some attention. He's over.
