It’s all their own work. It drives interest. I googled it, and the creator of TQE is Melissa Thompson. She found it through @cultofpedagogy
I think this is the most organic way I’ve seen kids engage in academic discussion. There’s so many ways any teacher could use this!

Can I share a student centered activity I’m stealing from my mentor? Students read/listen/watch and complete Thoughts/questions/epiphanies after. They are grouped in 4s and record their discussion using the TQEs they wrote and any other questions that develop.

We’ll use these during their class novels and literature circle books. I’m planning on using a few other ideas I caught from the CATE conference with this TQE method.
