- Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed newspaper quoted a source close to the negotiations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the US as saying that the visit of Pakistani Army Commander Asim Munir to Tehran does not mean that an agreement is close.
- He also reported that the reports recently published about a possible draft agreement between Iran and the US are not true and are merely media speculation.
- The Iranian official said that Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsen Naqvi did not carry a new US message for Iran.
- He said that the visits of Pakistani officials to Iran are in line with strengthening Islamabad's mediation and role and the desire to prevent an escalation of tensions.
