@rosegxavier I think the use of first person in this article was executed beautifully. And as you said, the imagery really draws the reader in. I really like how the author formatted the interview like he was telling his friends a story and just popped in a few HS quotes. #engl20101
@vamcdonough Wow, this is a great example of turning an interview into a stellar piece. The narrative was there, the beginning anecdote drew in the audience, and the author pulled what seems like the best quotes of the interview and incorporates them flawlessly. #engl20101
(Contd) you get in person.” Instead of being a main character in the story she’s telling, the author frames the story in her perspective, which is one of the main differences between talk show interviews and traditional press interviews. #engl20101 (3/3)
I found two interviews with the one, the only @BreneBrown. One of which was conducted by @Oprah herself, and the other was done by a writer from @CEOMagazineUS. The difference between the two is super interesting. #engl20101
Contd)Instead of sharing the spotlight, the author of the article used her narrative as a form of credibility for Brene. The author shares what she experienced and says things like “what you see of her in interviews or ... presenting @TEDTalks ... is exactly what #engl20101 (2/3)

https://t.co/61MPBzzKwi In this article published by the @IBTimes on @EllenPompeo, the narrative is right there in the title: “Playing Healthcare Workers Amid Pandemic... Huge Responsibility.” This makes it seem that her role in @GreysABC during COVID-19 (1/3) #engl20101
(Contd) was all that she talked about during the interview, while in reality the interview could have been much more broad and the author specifically chose to focus in on what he thought was the most newsworthy + relevant. In fact, other than the framing, (2/3) #engl20101
@VivienFisher11 @insco_lindsey I agree! I definitely think a lot of high schools and colleges are missing the boat when it comes to classes on soft skills and leadership. Our education is supposed to prepare us for the real world, and soft skills and leadership have become increasingly important. #engl20101
@matt23558905 I know! The more I think about it, the more I realize that correct spelling means you took the time to proofread and edit your resume/email/cover letter. That boy only shows effort, but it also shows how much you care about the position. #engl20101
