GAUTENG POLICE LAUNCH MANHUNT AFTER 17 PEOPLE KILLED IN WEDELA TAVERN SHOOTING
Gauteng police have launched a manhunt for eight unidentified armed men following a deadly shooting at a tavern in Extension 3, Wedela, West Rand District, on Saturday, 26 September 2026, at approximately 21:30.
It is alleged that patrons were drinking inside and outside the tavern when the suspects arrived and opened fire on those outside. The suspects then entered the tavern and continued shooting at patrons inside. The suspects were reportedly armed with AK-47 rifles and pistols. They allegedly searched some patrons and took their cellphones before fleeing the scene in two unidentified motor vehicles. Two vehicles were also set alight during the incident.
A total of 17 people, comprising 13 males and four females, were shot and killed during the incident. Emergency Medical Services declared all 17 victims dead at the scene. Fifteen other victims sustained gunshot wounds and were transported to medical facilities for further medical treatment.
The motive for the shooting is unknown at this stage. Gauteng police have mobilised a team of detectives and other specialised units to trace and apprehend the suspects.
Police have opened 17 counts of murder, 15 counts of attempted murder and two counts of malicious damage to property.
No arrests have been made at this stage. Investigations are ongoing.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Soshanguve is appealing to the public for assistance in locating 33-year-old Kutlwano Masilo, who was reported #missing.
Masilo was last seen on Tuesday, 22 September 2026, in Block F, Soshanguve. Her current whereabouts are unknown, and police are conducting an investigation into her disappearance.
Anyone who may have information that could assist police in locating Kutlwano Masilo is urged to contact Soshanguve SAPS, Constable Rammego on 067 167 7188, or the SAPS Crime Stop number on 08600 10111.

JOUBERTON POLICE REQUEST COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE IN TRACING A MISSING WOMAN: MANTSANE LETLAKA (22)
The police in Jouberton request the community’s assistance in locating #missing 22-year-old Mantsane Letlaka, of Jouberton in Klerksdorp. Letlaka was last seen by her mother on Thursday evening, 09 January 2025 when she left with her friend but never returned.
A search commenced and extensive investigations were conducted, without any positive results. It is not known what she was wearing at the time of her disappearance. She is light in complexion and about 1.6 meter tall with a medium built body and had black plaited short hair.
The police request anyone who may have information regarding Mantsane Letlaka’s whereabouts to contact the Investigating Officer, Constable Donovan Craucamp on 084 201 3500 or 018 465 9342. The South African Police Service (SAPS) is appealing to members of the public for assistance in locating 62-year-old Zithulele Vukubi, who was last seen at Johannesburg Park Station on Thursday, 17 September 2026, after arriving from Cape Town.
Mr Vukubi was reported #missing at the Johannesburg Central Police Station. Police have since initiated efforts to locate him and establish his whereabouts.

The police in Wolmaransstad request the community’s assistance in locating 60-year-old Lucas Johannes Kruger from Wolmaransstad. Kruger was last seen by his partner on Thursday morning, 30 April 2026, when he went to Klerksdorp but never returned.
A search commenced and extensive investigations were conducted around Wolmaransstad and surrounding areas, without any positive results. At the time of his disappearance, Kruger was wearing black trousers with a check shirt and black jacket. He is light in complexion, tall and slim, with long grey hair and a grey moustache.

Pretoria North SAPS requests the public’s assistance in locating 18-year-old Shilaveko Baloyi and her 9-month-old daughter, Wandem Baloyi.
The mother and daughter were last seen on 7 September 2026, leaving their rented room at Onderstepoort in Pretoria North. Shilaveko allegedly indicated that she was travelling to Limpopo. According to the reporter, they never reached their destination and have not been seen since.
Anyone with information that may assist in locating Shilaveko and Wandem Baloyi is requested to contact the investigating officer, Warrant Officer JAA Momberg, on 012 353 5600.

JOHANNESBURG DISTRICT FCS UNIT APPEALS TO THE PUBLIC TO ASSIST IN LOCATING A PERSON OF INTEREST
The Johannesburg District Family Violence, #ChildProtection and Sexual Offences Unit is requesting assistance from members of the public in identifying and locating a person of interest who can assist them with investigations into a rape case that was reported in Dobsonville on 01 September 2026.
It is alleged that the victim was walking along the street to a local shop, when a white Toyota Quantum with three unknown male occupants approached her. One of the men allegedly forced her into the vehicle, after which they drove to an unknown open area where she was allegedly raped.
The person depicted in the attached photograph may have information that can assist the police with the ongoing investigations.

PERSON OF INTEREST TO ASSIST POLICE WITH INVESTIGATION INTO ALLEGED MURDER AT PETSANA NEAR REITZ
