It is fascinating how African muthi is only deemed "acceptable" when it’s Julius Malema and the EFF performing the rituals. For the rest of us, practicing our heritage is often branded as "demonic."

The double standards are staggering. EFF burns imphepho at EFF events and embraces traditional rituals, yet he had the audacity to ridicule Phakela’s intelezi. You cannot pick and choose, which parts of our culture are valid based on political convenience.

Equally frustrating is Malema’s mockery of the skills shortage. How can we talk about a "gap" when the system prioritised ZEP and LEP permits for foreigners—schemes that utterly failed to facilitate skills transfer or build local capacity?

While we talk high-level politics, ordinary South Africans are being shut out of entry-level jobs in hospitality and farming—sectors, that should be the training grounds for our youth.
Our economy is hijacked, and the cost is measured in blood. We are losing young lives like Mazwi Mpumelelo Khubheka, Happy Nyawuza, and others in an unregulated informal economy.

We are being set back by a thirst for cheap foreign labour—modern-day slavery that undermines the very labour rights and minimum wages our ancestors fought for. Why did we struggle for dignity, if the plan was always to sabotage the local worker? With the highest unemployment rate in the world, this isn't just a policy failure; it's a betrayal of the people.
