Mamelodi Sundowns secured a record R110-million after winning the 2025/26 CAF Champions League.

The Tshwane club defeated Morocco’s AS FAR Rabat 2-1 on aggregate to lift their second continental title.

CAF recently increased the tournament’s winner’s prize from $4 million to $6 million as part of efforts to grow African football commercially.

Sundowns are also guaranteed participation in the 2026 FIFA Club World Cup, where they will potentially earn at least a further R230-million.

Mbokazi's English labguage barrier almost deprived him a good opportunity. But we had 1 on 1 sessions witg him.

He ended up being the captain, despite such challenges. Talent trumps everything!
