They really brought the modern reality of social media bullying into Carrie, showing how Chris weaponized humiliation to start chaos and protests.
The way it reflects Gen Z's world of online harassment, public shaming, and mob mentality was really a stand out point #Carrie
another top 3 scene of the series for me. i keep coming back to this & the car scene from episode 3 the most. definitely my favorite moment of the prom sequence
As I said before, I feel like this is by far the most humanized and layered portrayal of Chris’ death that we’ve gotten so far. Her last words being “I’m sorry” as she begs Carrie for mercy hit differently, especially because she had every opportunity to apologize to Carrie before this and repeatedly chose not to. Other versions of Chris were either portrayed as completely evil or didn’t give us enough time to see her death up close, but this version actually gives Chris a bit of a moment of genuine fear, regret, and desperation before it’s too late.
Mike Flanagan made Chris feel like an actual modern teenager rather than just a one-dimensional bully, and Alison Thornton plays her to perfection. She gives Chris this believable combination of cruelty, insecurity, arrogance, and vulnerability that makes her feel like a real person rather than simply “the evil bully"
This actress is insane. She makes my blood boil but then there are scenes where she becomes a regular scared teenage girl and it's so heartbreaking and then she switches right back to making me want to strangle her. 10/10 performance she needs to be in everything
CARRIE is now a ruthless, unstoppable powerhouse who believes the whole thing is her world. There’s NO WAY they’re not gonna explore this in Season 2. Mike Flanagan has opened the door for something absolutely insane #Carrie
