Compelling, subversive, mind punching on US’s racial history, with distorting mirrors and meta discourse on entertainment & capitalistic boxes.
Still digesting it! Fantastic performance @cliffordsamuel and direction @excalibah
Go, go, go! @stratford_east until May 10th
@theyearsplay que dire si ce n’est que le théâtre peut nous renverser jusqu’à la moelle ? Who knew that the adaptation of Annie Ernaux’s ‘Les Années’ would cause for women and men to pass out and gasp to the point that lights are switched on (the rest in comments)
and the play is interrupted while the medic is doing her checks on members of the audience still rolling on the floor with nausea and dizziness…I’m in awe at @haroldpintertheatre for making these daring feminist choices. Last year @lyonesseonstage and this year @TheYearsPlay
Oedipus @oldvictheatre Sophocles with a Hollywood blast and a touch of Pina Bausch, made QUITE an impression, or an illusion? Glad I saw this hyped up performance! Thanks @sunholistictherapy for such a visionary booking 🙌🏻 #londontheatrehype
I was lucky to go to that screening. There is hardly any dialogue, which leaves the stage to the dog as the main character and soul. A magnificent film where the animal in man and the man in animal entwine within a relationship rekindling each other’s life force. Stunning!
Un monument de littérature contemporaine ce livre, et dire que cet auteur n’a que 32 ans ! Une maturité littéraire vertigineuse ! #litterarturequebecoise#kevlambert
Very powerful Wisemanesque documentary by Mati Diop about the importance of the return of artworks to their original origins.
It made me feel like a witness to a landmark historical act.
Late lunchtime visuals: my review of the poignant & poetic documentary DAHOMEY by Mati Diop.
The film follows the return of 26 royal treasures repatriated to their homeland, Benin, in November 2021.
Now showing @TIFF_NET Lightbox in #Toronto

An epic production indeed. How fortunate I feel to have witnessed it last night. So utterly contemporary in its theme and staging! @NationalTheatre#Coriolanus
