On Saturday morning (2/7), resisters will be setting up filter blockades across the Twin Cities to defend our communities from ICE abductions. Reach out to your neighbors and friends to plan a filter blockade near you!
Will it be on your block to directly defend your neighborhood, or along the nearest major street to monitor ICE travel?
Will ICE be refused passage, or simply monitored and reported?

A filter blockade doesn't take much! Over the last few days we have seen neighborhoods throughout Minneapolis adapting, learning, and building to protect their communities from ICE.

@jacob_mauren Yes. There are photos online of ICE agents present at the scene. They were not taken by media collectors associated with this account, so the are not being posted here. However, it has been widely documented.

Today, hundreds of community members were able to safely pass through the filter blockade. When ICE Agents tried, they were repelled.

They want us to be demoralized but keep in mind: blockades are cheap to set up + not meant to function around the clock. It takes almost no effort for people to set up another filter blockade. But this strategy will only work if we keep building momentum w more blockades. (3/3)
WATCH: Community defenders stop an out of state vehicle at the filter blockade, run the plate through a database, and confirm whether the vehicle is affiliated with abductors before letting it through.
Some in South Minneapolis have created what they call “filter blockades” on Cedar Ave. A handout says the roundabout like blockade is meant to bring neighbors together to strategize against ICE while also identifying traffic coming into the area.
