@Stasher_BC@ribbonfarm Interesting. But I don't know about calling it Waldenponding. Walden retreated to the woods as an experiment, not a therapy. He meticulously journaled his findings in almost a scientific way. I don't think he was trying to better himself, only to discover something about life.
@MinPedCA@RiderExMachina@renomate@JohnsonStBRDG@Stasher_BC I sure don't see a lot of low income people at the camp ground unpacking their bikes for a weekend of R&R at the lake, but I certainly meet a good number of working class people on the beach tho.
@RiderExMachina@renomate@MinPedCA@JohnsonStBRDG@Stasher_BC Buses and trains are inadequate and unfeasible in a country as large and cold as Canada. Greyhound and VIA rail are good examples of a failure to turn that into a business. And I will not listen if u suggest we start an air canada version of a bus company. Cars are essential.
@RiderExMachina@renomate@MinPedCA@JohnsonStBRDG@Stasher_BC And I'm also not convinced riding a bike is a reasonable alternative to driving a car when transporting almost anything, like people (other than the rider) or materials over long distances.
