We have all seen the Capitec machines that are trending where you can also apply for a Home affairs smart ID. And to access this feature you must be a Capitec client. Which may be seen as using government resources to channel clients towards a particular company which may be seen as the government which was supposed to be a fair referee interfering in a free-trade environment to give an unfair advantage to one player over others. But it gets deeper than that.

Who is the minister of Home affairs? It is Leon Schreiber.
Which party does he belong to? The DA.
Who funds the DA? One of their funders is Michiel le Roux has donated over R110 million to the Democratic Alliance (DA) since 2021.
Okay, Who is Michiel le Roux? He is the cofounder of Capitec.

I have come to respect and appreciate Advocate Mahlape Sello SC more in the past two, three months or so. I think she has taken on more volume of the work in terms of leading most of the evidence in recent streams. If she's not leading, she's there supporting and mentoring the young Advocates.

Her energy is out of this world. Her tone and pace is constant, from 9:30 till 5pm and beyond sometimes! I don't know how she manages. It's like she's running on batteries. 😭😂❤️

Her experience and preparation is simply impeccable. There are no pauses, she follows through immediately from one question to the next, her mind is sharp as a razor, and then of course, her no nonsense attitude is just admirable. She suffers no fools and will put you in your place very fast if you are cocky and disrespectful. 😊
