@Alan_Couzens Allow me to follow up on the gap but with HR. With most HRMax calculators, the simple & the more sophisticated (e.g. Karvonen), I'm nowhere near where a 45 y.o. "should" be. My Z5 HR (belt) can get to 195-200 while my consistent resting HR is 46-48. Seems like this is good...?
@alvaroddm2@Alan_Couzens Found your tweet by chance! Same rare thing here - RHR 43-48, full sprint HR can excel 190 and reach 200 (on heart rate monitor of course). My HM PB last year was done pretty much on ca. 180 bpm all along. Wonder what the wide range means...
Alex Ovechkin in recent years has signed endorsement deals with Nike, Coca-Cola & Hublot Watches.
None of those companies would respond to q's about whether they'll use Ovechkin in future ads or even if they still have contracts with him.
Ovechkin makes a reported $5M/yr off-ice.
Russian Olympic figure skaters, gymnasts, skiers - wearing their medals and ‘Z’ symbols in support of Vladimir Putin's war in Ukraine - appear on stage at a rally in Moscow with Putin.
Never more clear that international sports has become a cultural and political battleground.
@richroll@kilianj@PrzedwojewskiBa@dylanbo@rickeygates Do you guys think you can amplify this message a bit? Merely symbolic on Strava's part but anytime we can show support and also reassure each other we're a legion standing by what's right... it's a good gesture.
Dear @Strava do you think you can add a new Map Type? I think the running and cycling community would truly love to see a yellow-blue one these days✊ A gargantuan kudos right there in front of you!
@risingaction I'm not a big social media presence (by choice) = no reach at all, but we were once in touch (re: Canucks). If you feel this message needs amplification in hockey circles & write about it, that'd be awesome. Hockey is, after all, Putin's fav sport.
👏👏 Let's end the "sport and politics are separate entities" BS once and for all. Sport is, and always was, political. Jesse Owens in Berlin. The Miracle on Ice. Kozakiewicz's gesture in Moscow. There is a reason we remember! Sports people, your voice matters! #UkraineRussiaWar
Ok, after years of warnings were ignored and hearing "Garry, you were right!" all damn day today, I'll repeat what I said in 2014: Stop telling me I was right and listen to what I'm saying now. My recommendations follow: 1/5
@TheAthleticNHL@TSN_Sports today's work is cut out for you. Asking Russian NHLers about the invasion may be difficult for them but a proper, powerful reaction can truly be impactful on a social level.
Fedor Smolov is the first Russian footballer to speak out against the war today by posting on Instagram a black picture captioned with "No to War"
Respect.
@WildeCanucks Oh I agree, my take is from different angle though: true, organic charisma carries you through tough moments and inspires others. That is not, and never was, Jim Benning.
@WildeCanucks At this point I just miss articulate, well-spoken, trustworthy people at the helm. Hope the next crew brings at least that. Organizational identity IS influenced by the charisma, demeanor and attitude of the mgmt. Jim Benning is one of the least charismatic managers I ever saw.
