We’re so tired of everyone on this thread (and elsewhere) saying they shouldn’t be expelled because a public school might have to take them, or because @MyYVG have a responsibility to fix them.
Firstly, nobody who’s saying this seems to have a solution for what the GIRLS who will have to share classrooms with these creeps might think. Their feelings and needs should be PARAMOUNT in any discussion about this. Why should they continue to feel unsafe and disrespected by sharing a school with boys who would do this?
Secondly, attending school should be a privilege, not a right. We don’t see why these boys should have an unalienable right to attend this school or any other if they’ve forfeited their right to be there via their behaviour. Any argument centring these boys’ rights here are ridiculous and just another way boys’ achievements are centred over girls’ needs. We understand this is a tricky and complex issue, but it should begin with an understanding that an education shouldn’t necessarily be automatic if the boys are over the age of mandatory schooling or it interferes with the rights of others. Make them learn at home or find other solutions which don’t further disadvantage the girls and teachers at that school. The whole mindset of the idea these boys “deserve” schooling is fucked.
Calling someone “unrapable” is disgusting and unforgivable abuse. If your argument or solution to the issue doesn’t include the rights of all the girls and women teachers involved here as a FIRST priority with everything else a distant second, it’s bullshit and what’s more, it’s perpetuating rape culture.
⚠️ #CentralCoastNewcastleLine allow plenty of extra travel time due to severe weather damaging equipment at Fassifern.
Trains may stop on platforms or between stations for longer than normal.
Stops may change at short notice.
