After failing to stop for police, a driver led officers on a dangerous high-speed pursuit, driving on the wrong side of the road and putting members of the public at serious risk.
Thanks to the skill, professionalism and bravery of our officers, the vehicle was brought to a safe stop and the driver arrested
Every day, officers put themselves in harm's way to keep our roads safe. One reckless decision by a criminal behind the wheel can have lasting consequences.
Our thoughts are with the family and friends of PC Matthew Blades and PC Tom Clough and all our colleagues at Cleveland Police.
We know their loss will be acutely felt across the policing family, particularly by those who had the privilege of serving alongside both officers. We are thinking of them and all those impacted by this tragic incident at this unimaginably difficult time.
#GlasgowRP stopped this vehicle in the Pollok area recently.
The tyres were found to be in a dangerous condition; something that didn't' happen overnight.
Remember our advice... #DontRiskIt and regularly check the condition of your vehicle.

A police van gave chase to a Smart car driven by a not-so-smart suspect.
Officers skilfully weaved in and out of rush‑hour traffic to apprehend the driver, who mounted pavements and ran red lights at dangerous speeds.
Just because it’s a van, it doesn’t mean it can’t keep up!
