Weirdly the Encycolpedia lists both Fascism and Communism as ideologies and then links the Swastika and Hammer and Sickle to regimes so maybe tell them they don't understand either.

According to you that's what set them apart, so if they're both illegal in multiple European countries why are they not equally heinous? UK and US flags are not illegal anywhere

I just don't think the millions displaced or killed due to communist regimes would think it's just an ideology.
