There’s a silver lining to every hardship. Nothing that the Almighty sends your way is bad. At times, being let down by someone can be the direct cause for you to dig deep in yourself, finding your own strength. You learn to depend only on the One who made you. No one else matters.
Shaykh Saleh al Usaymi:
“Hardships dont remain forever, and Allah's relief is inevitable. It is from of Allah's wisdom to test whomever He wills by afflicting them with hardship; will they be patient or despair? Then He removes it to test them again: will they be grateful or ungrateful? Every hardship is followed by relief. Abdullah ibn Shubrumah al-Dabi, may God have mercy on him, one of the jurists and righteous of the Tabieen, used to say when hardship befell him: "Like the passing of the cloud, then it will dissipate."
Grandpa’s playbook doesn’t work anymore:
• "Just go to college"
• "Climb the ladder"
• "Don't take big risks"
• "Max your 401k and wait"
• "The pension will take care of you"
Every single one of these aged horribly.
Almighty. Keep us away from overthinking and replaying failed scenarios in our minds. With Ramadan coming up, help us quit bad habits and keep our focus on that which pleases You. Aameen.
When you believe, it doesn’t mean the road ahead is smooth all the way. Far from it. Expect the Almighty to test you if you’re true to your word. Remember, faith is not the belief that He will do what you want, it is the confidence in knowing that He will do what’s best for you.
Stay connected to the Almighty. Cut off all wrong connections. Those who try to lead you astray. Those who waste your time. Let them all go. Life’s too short to be engaging in futile activities.
Israel destroys one of the last residential towers with hundreds of civilian families seeking refugee in and around it.
If this isn’t the definition of terrorism, then what is?
Every word and value you threw at us is in the rubble of Gaza.
Why worry when you have the Master Planner in your life? The Almighty’s attention to detail is flawless. He is perfection. You’ll never be able to count His Blessings. He’s bestowed you with so much goodness. Trust Him in your journey.
We all have many goals we want to achieve in this world. But the simplest and most secure path to success is to focus on the Hereafter—because when you prioritize Allah and the next life, He grants you goodness in both worlds.
As Hasan al-Basri رحمه الله beautifully said:
“O son of Adam! If you trade this worldly life for the next, you will gain both. But if you trade the next life for this world, you will lose them both.”
[Hilyatul Awliya, vol. 2, p. 143]
Imam Ahmad رحمه الله said:
"This world is a place of action and the hereafter is a place of reward, so whosoever does not act here will regret there."
[Az-Zuhd]
The on going genocide against the Palestinian population is the worst of its kind. Don't ever think you will bring about peace by killing, murdering and mass destruction. Instead you will create enemies out of good people across the world and ultimately be defeated. Remember, against every pharaoh is a Moses. Hasbunallahu wa nimal wakeel.
Almighty. Keep our hearts soft and protect them from hardening. When we commit a sin, make us feel the guilt that comes with it. Don’t make us among those who sin and yet don’t bat an eyelid or feel remorse. Shower us with Your Mercy. Aameen.
