Yesterday was an amazing day of community connections 🤝@PPHSIndyNorth!
Erin from @NotreDame connected ‘ancient’ Constitutional amendments to today.
Alec from @tinkercoffeeco linked us to global coffee cultures ☕️! #LoveMyJob
Laser craft, pop culture through the decades and urban design — classes @PurduePolyHS coach Gregg Nowling teaches to encourage his students to pursue passions and find what makes them tick. As a maker of movie props and replicas, Nowling leads by example. https://t.co/wdxowSGNwo
White people are allowed to storm the actual Capitol building, breaking and stealing public property... because they didn't get their way. Black people have been actually brutalized by this country for 400 years, and we can barely march without being met with military force.
Now is not the time to be afraid to have hard conversations in classrooms. Kids need to know they can talk and ask questions. If you don’t know the answers, tell them that and look for the answer. Teach them how to be a critical reader and thinker. As teachers, that is our job.
COVID may keep us from being able to visit classrooms, but we are still connecting with students virtually! Tanner McKinney, PE recently hosted a Q&A session via Zoom with students from @PurduePolyHS. Questions about funding and design were addressed. Way to go, everyone!
We kicked off Tech120 with some rapid #prototyping... how would you innovate the shopping cart?? Loved seeing their ideas come to life! @PPHSIndyNorth @strimelg #rethinkhighschool
Back at it today with the beginnings of Tiny House design! It felt great to be back in the makerspace and prototyping with a new crew... @PPHSIndyNorth
Wow! “Disappointed at school responses to COVID-19”! Reflect on this: The U.S. Secretary of Education has never taught 1 day in a classroom, has NEVER led 1 school or district, but is the chief of ALL school districts in our country. How would she know what she doesn’t know?
