I’ve really enjoyed the differences between the European and US commentators.
US: “oh and he’s just missed it!”
EUROPEAN: “Horrible effort, that. Terrible to be honest. How can he go home to his children after that I don’t know.”
very torn between
-lmao no one can stop France's superstars just give them the Cup now
and
-every time a team can keep possession against France they don't have the midfield to get the ball back and they look unusually vulnerable
This is maybe the single most impressive penalty save I have ever seen.
That is not hyperbole, it is that good. You NEVER see this. Ever. I was stunned.
😳 @DiMarzio on how Chelsea have twisted the story with Enzo Maresca: “I smiled a little bitterly at the reconstructions Chelsea have made. They have imposed, if you will, a version of the story that you will all have clearly understood did not happen that way.
City had to pay a whopping €20m to release Maresca and make him manager of Manchester City. Chelsea have insisted on a reconstruction of the story, making it seem that Maresca caused damage to the club. That he was only thinking about Manchester City, that by resigning he created problems for the club, and all these various reconstructions which, I repeat, tell a distorted truth.
Chelsea is in a very particular situation where the manager can’t always act with complete autonomy and independence, and that’s also what happened with Enzo Maresca, who at a certain point had to say enough because the situation was unbearable.
Now the whole thing has been twisted and turned around only to try to get out of it cleanly with the Blues fans, but everyone in the know knows that the truth isn’t what was told by the power of a press release and the power of money.”

There are humiliations that corrupt and curse the victor. Germany’s 7-1 over Brazil was one of them. Most teams would have eased off after the fourth. They didn’t. Ever since then, their juju has been off. This will only stop after they pay their dues.
This reeks of Clearlake trying to save face, I’m confident they threatened to sue Maresca unless he took the blame and said he left for city instead of the signings the board has given him to work with and denying his needs
Good to call Maresca out properly but important that we don’t lose track of the two more important points
1) nobody forced them to make the situation worse by hiring Rosenior
2) that your manager resigned to join a rival is not something to parade about. It’s embarrassing
ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI IS COMING TO CHICAGO 🇵🇱
We have signed global soccer icon and Poland’s all-time leading goal scorer Robert Lewandowski as a Designated Player 🔥 #cf97
only eight teams have *ever* won and since the 70s it's been five teams that already won (germany, brazil, argentina, france, and italy) and the only new winner was spain. and only two countries besides those made the finals, the netherlands and croatia in 2018
