@ForestryEngland missed a trick! The pay stations are down at Delamere, but rather than spreading some festive cheer and letting people park for free, instead everyone had to join a long line to pay at the Visitors Centre!
We had a fantastic turn out to last night's Open Evening and such positive feedback from families. If you are ready to apply for your child's Year 7 place, then please follow this link: https://t.co/339lioimQ7 #admissions#aspireforexcellence
The ambition over time is to develop the role of the Progress Tutor so that for the vast majority of students, they can say ‘that’s my person’ about their PT. This aims to create an instant sense of belonging and a positive start to every day. #attendance#engagement
Engagement plays a huge part in our attendance strategy. One of our 3 foci this half-term is ‘That’s my person’. It starts with a questionnaire to students to see who they feel is there to support and champion them in school. Students who can’t name anyone become 1st priority.
A new year and plenty of new rewards to show students how much we value their hard work and attendance. As an SLT we have been visiting lessons every day and the focus, engagement and effort from students has been superb. Prize Drop is one way we will celebrate this daily.
We launch a range of our reward initiatives this week. Our brand new Friday Take Away and Prize Drop lead the way, along with the return of the ATL 600 Challenge #rewards#aspireforexcellence
We have had a really positive start, with over 300 hours more learning completed last week compared to the same week last year. ‘Starting Strong’ is our focus for all students. We know how important the start of term is for every student as they transition into their new classes.
Well done to our Attendance Champions from last week and for Starting Strong! Keep up the good work and let's see who tops the tables next week. #attendancematters#startingstrong
Thank you to all of the students who baked and designed cakes for our European Day of Languages competition, bought cakes to sell and engaged in the range of activities taking place this week. You all did a great job. #edol#languages#wideropportunities#greatgrangebakeoff
A really great evening, with some fantastic feedback from parents/carers. Please contact school if you were unable to attend, but would like to come and take a look around. #transition#openevening
Thank you to the over 600 people who visited us this evening for our Open Evening. We hope you enjoyed looking around, talking to staff and students and discovering why we are the school of choice for so many families. #openevening#transition
After the fantastic performances we saw last week at Cronton College, we can't wait for our summer music showcase 'The Sound of Summer'. Tickets go on sale today and can be purhcased via SCOPAY. #thesoundofsummer#music#buyyourticketsnow
Super proud of students last night at @crontoncoll. Thank you for having us and we are already looking forward to next year’s event. A big thank you to @Clarefoz and Dave Foster for preparing such fantastic performances. #musicmatters
Such talent displayed at last night’s concert. All of these performers, plus many others will be featured in our end of year summer concert on Thursday 18th July. More information will be shared soon. #musicmatters#performance#concerttime
In subjects where curriculum time is at a premium, very selective and specific choice of the knowledge and skills we deliver to students is vital. Linked to this is having clear, specific end points that are measurable - any end point needs to be assessable.
Really enjoyed leading the cross-trust Perf Arts team CPD this evening on ‘Decluttering The Curriculum’ using the Priority Matrix I have created to explore how the selection of knowledge and skills is prioritised and how this leads to very specific end points and AFL. #curriculum
Our new Year 7 transition programme is well underway and in half-term 6, we have a range of activities and events taking place to help welcome our new students into Year 7. #transition#welcome#newyear7s
Really excited for our new Attendance Premier League, inspiration stolen from @hillside_high! Any votes for which form should receive the prize for best name? #attendancematters
The first fixtures in our Attendance Premier League have been drawn! Here is who is battling who during the first week back after half-term in Secondary. Primary fixtures will be shared later today. #attendancematters#league#letthebattlecommence

Schools should ensure they have a ‘strong’ Friday curriculum and extracurricular offer to help reduce absence, says @educationgovuk minister @dianabarran

@Dempseymaths@tombennett71 It’s actually not much work. When staff are preparing for the day and setting up their PPTs, they upload to Teams which takes 30 seconds per class. When it comes to assessments / mocks, it becomes a great resource for the full class to be able to look back on for revision.
