These 4 approached me last week with something they saw on social media and felt it needed to be brought to an adult’s attention. Thankfully, the threat was not found credible, but they’re prime examples of saying something when you see something. Encourage students like them!!
“You must be crazy to drive a school bus!” @OrioleTweets 2024 Support Staff of the Year hears that a lot & joined me to talk about why she loves driving a bus for 20+ years. Her love of the kids she transports comes thru in everything she says! https://t.co/Tr6KdmF7Xj
Day one of two of the Teacher Institute at the Birch Bayh Federal Courthouse in Indianapolis. A wonderful experience and insight into the justice system. Can’t wait to bring some of the knowledge and materials into the classroom!
Richard Goodall, a West Vigo Middle School custodian and ISTA member, earned the Golden Buzzer on "America's Got Talent" with his performance of "Don't Stop Believin'!" We’re proud to call him a member, and all of Indiana will be cheering him on! 🎤✨

AIS West is immensely lucky to have Mrs. Jones! From special staff meals to going above and beyond for students with food insecurity, we could not be any more grateful.
Today is School Lunch Hero Day. AIS West Cafeteria Manager Angie Jones was surprised with the news the Indiana DOE chose her as the '24 IN Food Service Employee of the Year! Congratulations! @SchoolLunch@AvonISWest@INDairy https://t.co/S0b1tgGciA
Bus drivers & bus aides, crossing guards, school staff organizing drop-off & pick-up...

Made it to the final four today in the 29th Hoosier Hysteria competition at AIS West. So incredibly proud of my Lizton Blue Blazer team. We took 2nd place in best mascot, too! Have a great spring break, everyone!
Another Hoosier Hysteria tradition in the books. I remember seeing @jimbballjones as a sixth grader many years ago at West; it’s still just as fun as a teacher!
No teacher should ever be afraid to take a 10-minute brain break with their students who’ve been working hard, or to take them outside if their work has been completed. Nobody needs permission to be HUMAN.
These two nailed the “dress like your teacher” day today. The quarter zip, Costco crew neck, name tag, and glasses were all on point. Nicely done Ella and Sydney!
