BEDC hiked our tariff in Iwhreovie, Ughelli from ~₦45 to ~₦250/unit — over 450% increase. Unfair to consumers. A thread on who needs to act. 🧵 #BEDC#ElectricityTariff#DeltaState
Ajo or Esusu is a rotating savings and credit association. It is a useful traditional tool, but it's suboptimal.
Pros:
-Interest-Free Lump Sum: Participants receive a large sum of money without any interest charges.
- Encourages Savings Discipline: It helps individuals to develop a habit of saving regularly.
- Useful for the Unbanked: Ajo provides a savings option for those without access to formal banking services.
Cons:
- Opportunity Cost: Collecting your payout early is an interest-free loan. If you collect last, you effectively provide an interest-free loan to the other members.
- In high-inflation environments, the last person to collect will lose significant real value due to decreasing purchasing power.
- No Interest Earned on contributions.
- No Flexibility:
Better Alternatives?
- Money Market Funds: These offer both access to your funds and potential yield.
- Treasury Bills/Commercial Papers: These options provide safer investments with returns.
- Cooperative Societies: These can offer dividends on savings.
- Automated Savings: Use bank or fintech apps like @investbamboo, which feature locking options to encourage saving. Lump sum.
Her sunglasses are worth more than what is being shared
What is shared is the pension and gratuity of that policeman standing there
Again, the failure to connect this cash to the absence of social services is baffling
Hello @NRS_ng, I emailed [email protected] re: Objection & Waiver Application for a CIT late-filing penalty (Delphic Energy Ltd, RC 7305143) but haven't had a response. Kindly confirm receipt. Thank you.
@NigeriaRevenue
@GloWorld@NgComCommission It may interest you to know that I have been using a different network for data since the incident and their daily usage records have not exceeded 3.5GB/day with heavy usage on my Laptop. Bye...
@GloWorld
My 165GB data plan, renewed on 18/06/2026, unexpectedly exhausted in 12 days. Usually, my heavy usage lasts 24 days. This premature depletion is highly irregular and disheartening. Kindly investigate this matter immediately.
CC: @NgComCommission@fccpcnigeria
@GloWorld@NgComCommission@fccpcnigeria 2. A clear technical explanation for the abnormal depletion rate on this cycle versus my historical usage.
3. A pro-rated credit or bundle extension covering the 16.5 days I was denied.
@GloWorld@NgComCommission@fccpcnigeria I require the following:
1. The full system ledger (activation timestamp, daily balance deductions, and exhaustion timestamp) for this specific subscription.
@GloWorld@NgComCommission@fccpcnigeria Instead, it was fully depleted in approximately 13.5 days under half its expected validity despite usage consistent with prior cycles on the same devices.
@GloWorld@NgComCommission@fccpcnigeria Your own records confirm my complaint. The one-off N30,000 (165GB/30 days) subscription activated on 18th June 2026 should have run until 17th July 2026.
