Pros:

- Useful for the Unbanked: Ajo provides a savings option for those without access to formal banking services.

Cons:
- Opportunity Cost: Collecting your payout early is an interest-free loan. If you collect last, you effectively provide an interest-free loan to the other members.
- In high-inflation environments, the last person to collect will lose significant real value due to decreasing purchasing power.
- No Interest Earned on contributions.
- No Flexibility:

Better Alternatives?

- Money Market Funds: These offer both access to your funds and potential yield.
- Treasury Bills/Commercial Papers: These options provide safer investments with returns.
- Cooperative Societies: These can offer dividends on savings.
