Recently I saw this little boy sitting on the side of a fountain in the ground by himself and nobody else around … and I gotta say that seeing that has been one of the most memorable things I have seen in a while … why ?

BECAUSE THAT LITTLE BOY REMINDED ME OF MYSELF IN SO MANY WAYS …

Alone … Minding his business … having a moment to himself. In a way doing what the hell he wants … without the approval of others or caring about what they have to say. Just him and his thoughts at the moment.

Part of me wanted to reach out to him … to know who he was and to tell him how cool he is. Part of me wanted to give him a high five …

But most importantly … If I had the opportunity to give him a message.

I would tell him …

To believe in himself to the fullest and to not second guess himself … not to depend on anybody. That besides God, ultimately he’s the only one has and to be strong. To keep his faith and know that there will be both good and bad times. To ultimately grow up to be a man of good who helps others and does the right thing. That his smile is his biggest asset. Many other things … But most importantly …

To stay true to himself and to know that he is God’s highest form of creation … AND THAT THERE IS NO ONE LIKE HIM … A TRUE 1 OF 1

And hopefully one day that young king knows that even with the weight of the world on my shoulders … I saw myself in him. 34 years later.
