@MrGSimpson Buzzing for it already! First one at the new school, spreading budget bingo fever around London. Also great to read the @EconomicsinTen book review in the ET, and also loved the economics of Xmas. Hoping for some cold hard cash from students next month @Peter_Cramp
A superb turnout of keen economists for the #SpringStatement today. Lots of ‘magic dust’ (@MrGSimpson) to sprinkle into their essays! Biggest cheer of the day was for the fuel duty cut, so I had to question them on the environmental impacts 🌳 Feeling very proud of them today!
We’re all ready for the #SpringStatement2022 with our bingo cards! Expecting a big turnout from our @AshmoleAcademy econ students for what is set to be a very important statement from Rishi Sunak. Our new drivers will keeping a close eye on fuel duty ⛽️
@MrGSimpson Unfortunately haven’t been collecting this year as I had to consider the opportunity cost of moving out (with three fellow Owens economists). I reckon I’d spend at least a months rent on stickers 😂 found these when moving out (that’s my Dad’s from Argentina 78)
@MrGSimpson This was a definite highlight of my economics education at Owen’s! I should’ve also discussed the negative externalities of these stickers being stuck up on the walls of the school 😂 I’ve introduced the “BEST talks” at Ashmole, but haha rebranded it as “Economist of the Year”
@MrGSimpson @WillRobinsonUK Had to adapt to the remote learning situation! Got students to tune in on Teams and have a live watch along. Had to type HEAR HEAR rather than shouting in class. No Bingo this year unfortunately, gutted
Great to see my old school Dame Alice Owen’s in the Sunday Times as the South East School of the Decade. No surprise considering the quality of education we all received. The perfect testament to Dr Davison’s time as Head Teacher #strivewithawill 🔴⚫️
There was no way that I was going to see Arsenal become the first PL club to join the UN climate action plan and not use it in my Geog lessons. Hopefully it will get some of our football fan students more engaged and interested in climate change 🌍⚽️
Good luck to all of my Y13 economists today!
This year, more than any other, proves that the grades you receive don’t fully reflect how far you have come as economists and as young people.
Wishing you all the best of luck for the future 😊
Delighted to find out that I’ve passed teacher training and have been recommended for QTS! 🎉
I’ve learnt so much this year from both my school and the university. I cannot wait to get back to work and am very excited to start my NQT year in September 😀
